The next day Rei and Shinji were cleared from contamination, in a hospital bed next to each other.
Akane, Auska and Mari walked in. They all smiled seeing each other. Akane hugged Shinji and Auska hugged rei.
"So happy your okay" Akane said
"Yeah a few days of rest is all we need huh Rei" Shinji said
"Y-yes Dr. Akagi orders" Rei replied smiling
Mari stepped aside and giggled, they all turned to face her.
"Oh im sorry but is this some sort of harem thing?" She asked
They all blushed but Auska confronted her.
"And what if it is, you got s problem with that?" Auska said
"No problem at all, but I would like to join if it is" Mari said partially teasing
They all looked at each other
"Are we?" Shinji asked
"Well I suppose if we all love you the same, I wouldn't mind" Akane said to shinji blushing looking down
Shinji blushed
Auska closed her eyes and crossed her arms.
"Yupp I knew this was gonna happen, so count me in" Auska said
"Me too" Rei said
"Oh w-wow this is umm unexpected" shinji said smiling rubbing the back of his head
Meanwhile on the other side of the two way mirror, Misato and Ritsuko heard the entire conversation.
"Did shinji just....?" Misato asked
"I guess so, reminds me of Kaji" Ritsuko said dropping her cigarette
Misato sighed
"Dont remind me" she said
Shinji and the others were laughing and talking inside the room, the elevator opened and misato and Ritsuko turned to look and saw Commander Ikari.
They both stood at Attention
"Dr. Akagi, how are shinji and the others doing?" Gendo asked
Both women were surprised at this, he had never shown care towards the pilots.
"They are just fine sir, a couple days rest and they should able to pilot again" she replied
"Thats good to hear we are gonna need everything, Miss Katsuragi" He said turning to face misato
"Y-yes sir?" Misato asked
"I hear by promote you to Overall commander of Nerv" he calmly said
Misato gasped but nodded
"Oh i ummm Yes sir, thank you" She said shocked at this sudden promotion
Ritsuko knew what that meant. She lit another cigarette.
"Take care of shinji and the others" he said
Misato still unable to comprehend everything
"Dr. Akagi I require your assistance with something, come with me" He said
Ritsuko not saying a word followed him out, out if earshot of misato
"How bad is it?" Ritsuko asked
"They are going to eliminate everyone, because we failed to destroy kiryu and begin to human instrumentality," he replied
"But we can still pull it off, unit 1 survived the last battle" Ritsuko said
Gendon remained quiet
"Godzilla will not allow that, neither will I" gendo said
Ritsuko was shocked by this, her whole life's work and life view shattered she began to get angry.
"Why the sudden change? Why? Why when that Kiryu mech arrived things started to suddenly change?" Ritsuko asked.
Gendo said nothing and walked into a elevator.
"Scrap all our plans we had Dr. Akagi, we no long need them, right now we need all the Eva's and most importantly we need godzilla, I know what I must do" Gendo said Pressing a button closing the doors
Ritsuko couldn't help but cry
Meanwhile
Misato walked into the partially rebuilt command center, several nerv staff were there. She stood at the highest point where commander Ikari usually sat. Everyone got the memo about Misatos promotion.
Everyone turned to face her and saluted her. Misato nodded and sat down in the commanders chair, fuyusuki stood behind her and smiled.
