"It's perfect. Dad is so proud of you. You're now the man of the house so start acting like one." I stated.
"Exactly." Bertin said sounding like a grown man. I giggled slightly, ok, I laughed.
"So proud of you, Bert." I said.
"Yeah, yeah. School's starting. You'll be going to school, I mean University next week. You haven't even gone shopping." Bertin chirped.
"I'm okay with my current wardrobe." I said.
"Whatever you say." Bertin said as he left the room.
I had to be strong for the family. I got up from the bed, I had been on for weeks. I needed a shower. I immediately ran to the bathroom and had a relaxing shower. Mom got strong again and life went on. It's hard to lose someone dear to you but you have to keep going for those you still have. That's what I did. Gisele was getting good pay so we renovated the house and made it more lively and I got back to school. I sat at the far back of the class and the class started soon. As the teacher was teaching, a guy who seemed a bit familiar but couldn't remember at all entered the room and sat in front of me.
When the lecture ended, I went to my locker where I bumped into Dream.
"Ashley, no Serafina. I like that name. Long time." Dream chirped.
"Yeah." I said.
"It's great that you attend this University. We're going to have fun. Ciao, Serafina." Dream said with a fake Italian accent as she walked off with her friends.
If she was here, it would mean that her hot brother is here. Maybe, they're whole friend group is here. I should have a little fun to recover from Dad's death. I spotted a girl my age in the hallways and she looked very familiar. It was Daven's half sister. Isn't she supposed to be in USA? Daven showed me a picture of her once. Her name was
Esme Blake. I need to know why she's in Canada with Daven. I walked up to her.
"Hey, you're Esme, right?" I said to start up a conversation.
"Yeah. Who the heck are you?" Esme asked curtly.
I couldn't let her know that I'm her half brother's ex girlfriend so I had to use my middle name once again. "The name is Serafina." I chirped.
"I didn't ask for your name, I asked who the heck you are." Esme said curtly. Okay, this girl was not very nice.
"Well, I'm your friend." I said. Well, that's what popped into my head first.
"I don't have friends." Esme said curtly.
"Well, you do now." I chirped.
"What makes you think I want you as my friend?" Esme said curtly. This girl was not nice.
"I know you're not from around here at all and you would need someone from here to stay out of trouble and here I am." I said.
"How'd you know I'm not from here?" Esme asked.
"I've never seen you around here." I said.
"But -" Esme said before I interrupted her.
"Blah blah blah, no buts. Enough questions, go to your next class and we'll talk by the end of all lessons." I said.
Esme walked off confused and I took the opposite route and someone pulled me into a small room. It was the janitor's closet. The figure pinned me against the wall and held my hip and brought his lips closer to mine.
I kicked the guy in the place where I knew it'd hurt and being the idiot that I am, I punched him in the nose and his nose was bleeding.
My bad. Oops.
