"Attack!"
"Go, go, go! Neteyam, Lo'ak, go!"
Hundreds of gunshots ring in the air. Explosions erupt from the below, knocking everything in the area to the ground. Debris smack me in multiple places and the impact of the detonation shoves me to the dirt, where eyes of the deceased are already staring blankly at me. I yelp before Neteyam wastes no time to grab me and pull me back up.
And just like that, the war has started. People shout and scream, machines whir in the sky, bombs explode everywhere around us. Na'vi ruthlessly drive their spears into the guts of the sky-people; they impale the Na'vi with their sharp metal objects. I didn't see where they had come from.
"Neteyam!" I cough, "What do we do?"
He readies his arrow. "We fight."
I let myself become part of the chaos. I made up a part of the blur of blue fighting viciously against the humans. One of my biggest showdowns was when I came face to face with a big, burly Recom. He had shaved stripes in one of his eyebrows, and a golden tooth. He began to laugh at me, "I remember you, but you were just a wee thing back then." he had a thick, unrecognizable accent.
I glared at him. Amidst the violent pandemonium, we both stood still. He didn't have a gun, but I knew the holster on his waist was hiding something. I kept my hand on my knife, waiting for him to attack. "You don't even know who I am."
He chuckles. "You were a part of the first batch of Recoms. You were number 15, along with your little buddies over there." He nods his head at Iwa, who's battling with two sky-people. "Of course, Olo'eyktan got you back."
I snarl at him. "You have no idea what you're talking about! Jsta'ya is my father, and Trudy Chacos is my mother! She had me in an avatar body!"
He takes a step closer, baring his teeth. "Have you ever seen your mother's avatar? No, you haven't. I remember Trudy--she's lying to you, girl. She's been a traitor ever since this whole thing started."
"You're wrong," I hiss, pointing my dagger at him. "You're wrong!" It was true. I had never seen Mom's avatar. I had never seen Mom act lovingly around Dad. In fact, I had seen her once hug Norm for a little too long after the sky-people came back. I felt a lump embed itself in my throat, and tears stung at my eyes. "You're wrong."
I remembered Mom's conversation with Jake in the storage closet, "After I'd taken her..." is that what this Recom's talking about? When they rescued me from the RDA? I hated to think I was putting the pieces together.
"Fe'ya!"
As the Recom continued to laugh--or was he laughing? Black and white spots danced in my vision and blocked my view of him. I looked down. Hot, red liquid gushed down my hip and trickled down my leg, dripping onto the ashy ground. Before I even had time to scream, I was lying in the dirt, the world spinning around me. Bombs continued to erupt from the ground, screaming echoed in the field. I was crying as I clutched my pelvis, the blood seeping through my fingers and covering my hand with crimson.
What was wrong with me?

"No, no, no." I crept up to Sephora's lanky build and clutched her head in my hands. She was sobbing, weeping, and her eyes were squeezed shut. I pressed my hand down on her hip, trying not to shudder at the feeling. "Fe'ya, open your eyes. I have to get you out of here."
