Monday Morning Blues.

Dion had been quiet since the previous day and Josh had simply let him.  At the moment, he was sitting in the kitchen watching Josh ransack the fridge for anything he could heat up since his friend wasn't in the mood to cook which was strange because that was his way of dealing with anything.

Josh watched as he sipped his coffee, scrolled through reels, and sometimes glanced at the door.
By the time Josh settled to eat his food, Dion had become somewhat restless.

What the hell was wrong with him anyway?
"So why don't you want to tell your neighbour about  Zoomer?" Josh asked pulling Dion out of his reverie.

"It would just scare her. I told the police officer and since he already warned her not to walk around alone, I don't think she has to worry."

"Hmmm," Josh hummed and focused on his food.
The doorbell went off just as he reached for his glass of water. He shouldn't have put the glass to his lips because it was a big mistake.

He choked on the tiny sip he had allowed himself to take when he saw his friend turn into flash and dived for the door at the speed of light.
Was he expecting someone?

He could hear Dion talking to someone as he coughed hard trying to recover.

A while later, his coughing fit settled, Dion walked back into the kitchen looking disappointed.

"Who was it?" Josh asked rubbing his chest.

"Why? Are you expecting your new best friend from next door?"

Josh chuckled.

"Well, it was you who ran for the door like were you expecting someone?"

"Of course, this," he said holding the package.

"Well, except it has contraband, or it's a bomb, I see no reason to run off like that." he gestures with his hands.

"Whatever, I am heading to work are you coming with me?"

"Nah, I'll just stay at home today."

"Do you have plans with your new friend?"

"No and speaking of that, it's almost 9 a.m. and I haven't seen her today."

"Really? Your friend who is always here at 7:30 am prompt, hasn't been here today?"

"That's what I said."

"Wow, some peace finally," he said dryly. "She finally got the memo."

"I guess, Josh shrugged regarding him with a mean glare. " Anyway, I'll just work out from home. I have a meeting at 11."

"Alright,". He replied but made no move to leave.
Josh went back to eating while reading up on the document he needed for his meeting in two hours.
He had just taken the last bite of his food when he noticed Dion still sitting across the table.

He had huge bags underneath his eyes. He looked sleep-deprived, his eyes were bloodshot and he had stress lines on his forehead.

"Dude you've only ten minutes before your clients decide to report you missing," Josh joked pulling Dion out of his thoughts.

He exhaled loudly and got up.

"Do you not feel like going to work?" Josh asked
"Kind of," he said nodding.

"It happens. It's Monday most people don't like work on Mondays."

Dion chuckled.

"Josh, I love my job and I like to go to work. I just feel a little bit tired maybe I am coming down with something."
