~ He blue her off~

Dion had gone back to his shelf arrangement the moment the chatterbox left. He didn't take a break until it was lunchtime, which he skipped and just went ahead to bury his face in the remaining coconut cake he made a few days ago.

He didn't stop cutting sizeable chunks and shoving them in his mouth until it was all gone. Then he put away the boxes when he was done arranging his books.

Dion took a quick shower and was dressed to go for a walk on the beach, which was another of his favourite routines since he moved to Roseview.

His phone rang as he reached the bottom of the stairs.

It was his brother, and he had been calling him for a week now, but Dion knew he was calling because of their father, and he wasn't interested in whatever he had to say.

He rejected the call and shoving the phone in his pocket, he walked towards the front door but just as he opened the door, the bell rang and once again there stood before him, the human he wished he could roll up into a ball and throw in the bin. He would then wait and watch until the waste disposal people came and took her away all pressed and crushed in their truck.

He chuckled mentally.

Dion shook his head to rid himself of his very graphic thought. He was becoming maniacal with each passing day.

"Hello, again."

The furball of excitement waved as she spoke.

"I was here earlier, I told you I am your new neighbour, but I think I caught you at the wrong time. You were in your grumpy state. Let me guess you're not a morning person. Same bro, same." She rambled on and then chuckled, but Dion's scowl deepened.

Sapphire immediately grew serious or tried to be serious when she noticed the menacing scowl.

"Sorry to bother you, but  please hear me out."
Dion regarded her coldly. He wasn't glaring or scowling at her angrily, but the look in his eyes gave nothing away.

The war he was fighting within him, the urge to pick her up and remove her from his property by hurling her over the fence.

Gosh, Dion, give it a rest.

He scolded himself mentally.

"Look, we are humans and you know how that saying goes, no one is an island and we are next-door neighbours so in times of emergency we would call each other first before any of the neighbours would even come to mind. Also, we would have to look after each other's property when one person isn't around. Also, I can hear your dogs barking so when you have to travel I can watch them while you take care of my fish. also..."

He had zoned out from the moment she said 'Hear me out', but hearing her talking about his dogs pulled him back in.

Dion exhaled loudly. He was frustrated.

When the hell was she going to stop talking?

"Also, we could exchange keys and..."

"Look, lady, I have no intention of giving you my key, let alone let you anywhere near my dogs."

Fierce would make mince meat out of her, but Ice would probably become friends with her immediately.

That dog needed a good lecture on how to behave more like Fierce.

Stupid dog.

Maybe he should have called him Tiger instead of Ice.

Her gasps cut into his thought.
