Well, that was the standard idea. Until know.
Jack/jackie Taylor has somehow amassed an army of all the different races from the extremely harsh lands to the north. Lizard folk, dwarves, orcs, halflings, elves, humans, everyone and anyone banished by the Kings before.
And theyre angry.
The current king is a usurper. When jack/jackie was an infant, the king stole the throne and banished the child to what he thought was certain death.
With this massive, insurmountable army coming, your father, a man of a cowardly persuasion, sends a message to the banished heir hoping they'll accept your hand in marriage and treat him favorably.
