Cliché Romantic Moment

--

It was warm where you were. The hot weather felt nice on your skin, and you couldn't possibly imagine a more perfect day.

There was a cool breeze that would blow softly every once in a while; but you didn't complain. The breeze was nice because it would cool you down every time you grew to be a bit to hot.

"I'm the best boyfriend ever." You're boyfriend-- who would of thought-- said, interrupting your peace.

"And what makes you say that?" You chuckled, nudging him playfully.

"Because what kind of boyfriend takes their gorgeous girlfriend to a carnival?"

You nodded your head side to side for a quick second, thinking. "Actually, alot of guys do that for their girlfriends." You said smoothly as his hand grabbed onto yours, intertwining your fingers with his own.
"That's probably the most common spot for a date, Riley."

"Okay, okay, shut up." He grumbled sarcastically, making you giggle. "Why can't you just agree with me for once?"

You rolled your eyes. "Alright, fine. Yes, you are the best boyfriend, McDonough."

Riley stood tall, his confidence growing. "Why thank you, beautiful."

You repeated your actions of rolling your eyes, and let Riley tug you away to a random ride. You never got sick at these kinds of carnivals, so whatever ride he did choose would be perfectly fine for you.

Plus, what ride could possibly be worst then the ride to the carnival? Let's just say, Riley isn't the greatest driver when he's eager to get somewhere.

--

Aftet riding a few rides, amd eating alot of greasy foods, Riley took your hand in his and pulled you off to some floor games which you never did win, but it was fun anyway.

"Ooh, (Y/N), baby," Riley began.

You're heart fluttered before he could continue. You weren't really a fan of those couple-y nicknames. But you couldn't help but blush when Riley called you "baby".

"Can we get some cotton candy, pleeeassee?" He finished after you had returned from your thoughts.

"Riley, I'm basically here for you. You're a little kid when you're around things like this." You joked, squeezing his hand gently.

"That is a total lie. I don't think little kids have to pay for the snacks, do they?" He chuckled, considering he has paid for all the things you've bought so far.

"Don't make me feel bad, Riles! You wouldn't let me pay!"

"I know, I know." He laughed, leaning downward (since you were a bit smaller than him), and placing a light kiss on your shoulder. "I'm just playing with you."

The two of you did end up getting some delicious cotton candy. The fluff was one of your favorite carnival treats, just because of the fact it melted in your mouth.

You would be huge if you ate this all day, but in all honesty, you definitely could.

"I'm forcing you on the ferris wheel, Riley." You blurted as soon as you saw the round ride.

"Huh?" He questioned, tossing the stick in which the cotton candy had been attached to into the trashcan.

"I wanna go on the ferris wheel!" You exclaimed, tugging lightly on his arm. "Let's go!"

"Alright alright!" He chuckled, walking in a fast pace in order to keep up with you. "Who's the little kid now, huh (Y/N)?"

--

The line wasn't to bad, but it did take a bit to get up to the front. After getting on board, the ride instantly began to slowly climb upwards.

You sat on one end of the wagon-- cart-- whatever you called these things, and Riley sat on the other, streching his legs in the free space.

The view from uptop was absolutely gorgeous. Because of the fact it was pretty dark outside, and the carnival would be closing soon, all of the lights were turned off, and it allowed the stars to shine brighter than ever.

In the distance you could see lights of all sorts of colors for miles. It was like a Christmas tree, except, without the tree. And, it was the middle of summer.

"Can we make this a cliché romantic moment?" Riley asked suddenly, forcing you to turn away from the view to look at him. But that was perfectly okay with you.
He was a better view anyway.

You perked a brow at him, a small smirk forming on your lips. "What does that mean?"

He leaned forward. "You know, like in every romantic movie whenever they go to a carnival--amusment park thing they go on the ferris wheel and then have their first kiss ontop of it."

"But this won't be our first kiss." You giggled, informing him.

"Well, yeah," He shrugged. "Doesn't mean it won't be any less special-- I-- did I word that correctly?"

"Doubt it." You teased. "Okay, so how does this cliché romantic moment work?"

Riley scooted closer to you, his face inches from yours.

"For starters, you can't sit like a mile away from me like you were." He said a little bit to seriously, making you laugh.

"And then I have to put my hands on that beautiful face of yours." And he did exactly that; placing his hands on your cheeks.

"And then--"

"Oh wait!" You interrupted. "I think I can kind of guess what happens next, yeah?"

"You better be able too." Riley smirked, pulling you into him, leading you to his lips.
His lips were soft, and fit extremely well with your own, and you couldn't help but smile under the cliché, yet romantically amazing kiss.
