Chapter 37 - Trust

I hold onto Brennen, still exhausted from this whole thing. He looks at me with soft eyes as he continues driving home.
Yn- I'm going to forgive him, and you need to as well. But I'm going to need your help with something
Brennen- you just woke up and got out of that situation, why would you worry about forgiving him now?
Yn- well, maybe he has a point. I want to hear his idea. I mean clearly I didn't turn, but I wouldn't have survived that on my own. So how is his venom in me?
Brennen-I don't know either. I've let him feed off of me for some time now to prevent any of this from happening, but he cares about you too much. Maybe it's a love thing?
Yn-well yes, but it shouldn't affect whether I turn or not right? Maybe the insane hunger for my blood is love, but I don't know that Colby's capable of it
Brennen sighs and nods.
Brennen- just stay at my house tonight?
Yn- of course! I want to rest and I know how sweet you are
He blushes slightly and smiles before turning into his driveway. He comes to my side and asks if I need help, which of course I do. We both decided it'd be easier for him to carry me, so he does, setting me on his bed.
Yn-why are you leaving already?
Brennen- I was just going to set myself a spot on the couch and make food. Why is something wrong?
Yn- you can make food of course, but can you stay with me tonight? I don't wanna sleep alone.
Brennen- anything for you

Brennen-are you sure you want to do this? We can go back to my house and let you rest another day
Yn- no, the curiosity is going to kill me
Brennen- no more dying this week
We both laugh a little before he helps me hobble back in the house. The only one awake is Sam, who smiles when he sees me.
Sam- there she is! How are you feeling?
Yn-oh I'm exhausted. But I came here to hear Colby out
Sam sighs a little and waves us over to the couch.
Brennen and Sam help me sit down before Sam turns to me with a small smile.
Sam- he's been in his room waiting for you to come home since. I was just up there a half hour ago and he was on his phone watching the video with you both. He also cleaned the entire house while we were all sleeping. So he'll probably be down soon, or he's listening to see what we're going to say
Yn- I'd go sneak in there if I had the energy
I let out a small laugh as Brennen walks back into the room with toast and sits by me and Sam
Brennen- well let's get you food to give you that energy so we can hear his idea out hmm?
I smile and take the toast happily. After a few minutes of casual conversation, I hear the stares creak and see Colby coming down in a black hoodie and black and white jeans.
Colby- I'm glad your okay yn. I apologize for everything I've done to you
Yn- apologize later, right now I want to hear your idea. It's all I've thought about since we left
Brennen- she asked me if I could forgive you and come back here before we were even in my driveway.
Colby chuckles and comes to sit on the table infront of us three.
Colby- since the venom didn't affect you the first time, I'm curious to see what a higher dose would do. If it doesn't affect you whatsoever, then I was wondering if I could feed. No it's not an excuse to harm you, I just want to know how that blood would affect me
Brennen looks slightly frustrated but I put my hand on his and he seems to relax. I look at Sam, who's surprised but not upset
Yn- I'll do it
Brennen-what?? You need to rest before there's any blood sucker poison in you! Are you sure??
Sam- and you almost passed out from last night Colby.
Colby- Sam it's okay-
Yn-it's better I do it now so the pain is over faster is it not? I can barely feel the bites from last night? Colby, don't you usually take your meals on dates first, or buy them flowers? This seems very intimate
We all share a laugh and set up a spot for me on the kitchen table once again. We figure out the plan, and Sam and Brennen move to the other room, still keeping an ear out to be safe.
Colby- this is either going to feel like nothing, or hurt like a bitch... It hurt her when I did it before. Please stop me if you get uncomfortable or hurt
I nod in trust, and he slips my hair behind my ear, gently dragging his hand down my back. I let out a small breath as his soft lips glaze my neck. A moment later I feel a pinch, and suddenly a burning pain, almost unbearable. I try not to react, as I want to find out what this does just as much as he does. I feel the world start to blur, and feel Colby's face stress on my skin. He starts pulling away, very slowly, before sitting back. His eyes flutter shut and I try to reach out to him but barely have the strength to lift my arm. All I can get out is a soft "Colby.." before falling in and out of consciousness.
