"What?!!" Charles asked
"I believe that since I did 'adopt' them as well, I should be able to spend time with them." Eric replied calmly.
Sean, Hank and I held each other's hands worried and scared.
Eric was right.
"Why only Sean and Meg?" Charles asked concerned.
"I would feel guilty for taking them all. I feel Hank would be able to help you the most." Eric answered.
"What will you do if I don't let them go with you?" Charles asked.
"I have weapons in that van. I will use them." Eric threatened. "I don't want to."
"I'll go." I offered. I couldn't let anyone get hurt. Not now.
"Meg, no!" Hank pleaded facing me.
"I have to, I'll be okay." I promised Hank.
"I'll go too." Sean spoke up.
"Will they come back?" Charles asked, understanding that Sean and I at this point weren't not going.
"In a month, yes." Eric replied.
"Okay, I'll let them go, just let me speak with them." Charles said sadly.
Charles, Sean, Hank and I went into the library for our goodbyes.
"Listen, both of you, you need to protect each other. Keep one another safe. I believe in you and I know your doing what's best for the majority of people. That's the kids I raised." Charles said hugging us both.
"Stay safe, I love you." Hank said, close to tears. I embraced him.
"Everything will be okay." I said looking into his watering eyes. That's when I realized I too, was crying.
"Bye, brother." Sean said hugging Hank.
"Stay safe, Sean." Hank said.
Sean and I walked out of the room and went to Eric and Raven.
"Ready to go?" Eric asked as if he was our dad bringing us home from our grandparents house. I looked back at Hank and Charles before nodding, which Sean then nodded too.
Eric led us to his giant black van and opened the last door. Sean and I got in and put our seat belts on. Looking at each other before locking them in.
"So, how are you guys doing?" Eric asked as if he never betrayed us. I loved Eric, he was like a father to me, but I don't know if I can ever forgive him. I want to, I really do, so does Charles, but the boys aren't as forgiving.
"Good." I answered. I wanted the old Eric back.
It took an hour to get to a beaten up house. It was really creepy. There was most likely an axe murdering ghost in there.
Eric opened the door and helped each one of us out.
"Welcome to your new home, for a month." Eric smiled. Raven still not saying a word.
Eric opened the door, letting us in first.
"Raven, I'll lead Sean to his room, you lead Meg to hers." Eric said.
"Follow me." Raven said stiffly. I followed her to a door. She had to take out a key to open it. When I went into the room she turned on the lights and walked in with me.
"Come here." She said motioning me to come over to her. She grabbed my hands and put large hand cuffs on them. Except the cuffs weren't connected to each other. She put the same cuffs on my ankles.
"Raven, why are going this?" I asked weakly. She stared at me.
"I'm not Raven." She simply answered leaving the room. I could have sworn she locked the door.
The room had a bed and a desk with a pen and some paper. The walls were a worn out white with cracks and stains. No windows. The floors were wooded, but beaten up and years old. This place freaked me out. I didn't like it. I needed to stay calm, I can't have a panic attack. Not here, not now.
I heard Sean and Eric talking to one another in the room next to me. I waited for Eric to leave. Then I ran to the wall where Sean's room was.
I tried to talk to him with my thoughts, but I couldn't. Not that his brain wasn't readable, I just couldn't do it! I tried reading his mind. Nothing. I tried my super speed. Nothing. I tried my flying. Nothing. I tried my force fields. Nothing.
These cuffs stopped my mutations. I had nothing to protect myself, and neither did Sean.
