DIFFERENT (sequel to mutant)

Serum for Change

"Okay,Meg, are you ready?" Hank asked me.
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied.

Hank had finally finished his serum and he was about to test it out on himself. Of course I was nervous but something inside of me had faith in him.

He had it in a small vial. The liquid was an eerie yellow color. It looked like a dangerous chemical and if you touched it it would disintegrate your skin.

"If anyone needs to be ready, it's you." I said looking up at him.
"I've been ready my whole life." He replied.

"Stay back...just in case." Hank said worriedly.
I walked back and sat cross-crossed in the middle of a lab table across the room. Hank stood on the complete opposite side of the room.

"Countdown." Hank said looking to me.
"Three..." I started counting down. I can't believe I was letting Hank do this!
"Two....." Please work! I don't have a mutation to help us out of this!
".......One." I said and Hank inserted the vial into his vain and pressed the vial inserting the yellow liquid into his body.

I had my knees to my chest and my arms around my legs, watching Hank carefully.

He suddenly fell to the floor and started screaming and roaring. I could hear his claws against the floor.

I ducked my head to my legs so my forehead was against my knees. I covered my head with my hands and closed my eyes shut.

I was breathing hard and the image of a monster resembling Hank coming over to grab me filled my brain. I was terrified. I started crying. Hank's roars and growls freaked me out to the point where I was also screaming.

So, there we were. Hank on the ground growling and roaring, going through what change the serum was forcing him through and me on the table in a ball screaming and crying.

Then an ominous silence filled the room. Hanks screams as well as mine stopped. The silence was more terrifying than the screaming.

I slowly lifted my head and looked over to where Hank once stood behind a lab table. I could no longer see him.

"Hank?" I called to the other side of the lab. I didn't get an answer.

I slowly and cautiously got off my safe island of the lab table. I slowly walked across the room trying to avoid touching anything. I got to the other side of the room without a problem.

I got on top of the lab table Hank had been behind and carefully crossed it so I was at the end Hank was closest to. I leaned over the edge to see Hank lying on the floor, passed out, looking the way he looked when I first met him.

IT WORKED!!! His serum, it actually worked!!

I jumped off the table and went to Hank's side. I turned him over so he was on his back.

"Hank!" I said while shaking him. "Hank!"

His eyelids started to flutter open.
"Hank, it worked!" I exclaimed.

He sat up and looked at his hands, flipping then over. He looked down at himself and smiled.

"It worked!" He yelled hugging me.

Then he jumped up and ran out of the lab.

"IT WORKED!!!!" He screamed. I followed him out of the door. He was running down the stairs and around the lobby. "IT WORKED." He screamed. I laughed at him and then joined him.

We ran around the mansion screaming at the top of our lungs.

"IT WORKED!"

I'm also extremely hyped for Apocalypse, even though it doesn't come out until next year. You can thank Brian Singer's Instagram posts for that. I always get so excited when I see a new picture from Brian on my feed.

QOTD: How excited are you for Apocalypse on a scale from 1-10

AOTD: Like five thousand!! Lol 😋

QOTD2: How do feel about the fact that Apocalypse is the last movie some of the actors are signed up for?

AOTD2: I do realize that people have to move on, find new jobs and such. I understand that, but I adore this cast. I've heard many say they'd be glad to do another movie if the script called for it. So that's what I'm hoping. If not, I'll just appreciate that Apocalypse may be the last time I see all of these amazing actors together.
