I walked to Hank's classroom my arm throbbing. I walked into the classroom and went over to where Hank kept his first aid stuff.
"Hey, Meg! What's up?" Hank asked.
"Nothing." I lied staring at my arm. What the heck was I supposed to do to help a burn?
"Okay, guys just work on that paper." Hank told his class.
"Hey, what happened?" Hank whispered.
"Some jerk fire-balled me." I groaned.
"Here. Let me help." Hank offered.
Hank ran my arm under water for a couple minutes and then put a bandage around it.
"Why don't you introduce your self to my class." Hank offered. I looked at him.
"They're nice. I promise." Hank smiled.
"Okay." I said hesitantly.
"Hi, I'm Meg." I said shyly.
"Are you okay? We saw that kid fire at you." A girl said.
"Yeah, I'm okay, just a little burn, I've dealt with worse." I said hopping up to sit on Hank's desk.
"What's your mutation?" A boy asked.
"You know we'll talk about it later." Hank said to the class.
"What's with the sunglasses?" A boy asked.
"You'll see later." I answered.
"Okay, class, back on track, back on track!" Hank smiled.
"Bye, guys, I have to go make your dinner." I smiled jumping off Hank's desk and walking out of the room.
I was in the kitchen making chicken sandwiches. It was quite easy. I was done in two hours. Now I had nothing to do.
"Okay everyone take a seat!" I heard Charles yell from the dining room. I walked out of the kitchen with the sandwiches.
"What's for dinner?" A kid asked.
"Chicken sandwiches!" I said.
The boys helped me pass the sandwiches all out. We sat down at the end of the table pleasantly eating our food. I looked down the table to see like ten girls eyeing Alex. I looked at Sean and he seemed to realize it too.
'Looks like you got some girls crushing on you!' I thought to Alex.
Alex groaned and put his head in his hand looking the other way. The girls sighed. Sean and I could barley hold back our laughter.
"Students, you've probably all been waiting for your mutation training. Your trainer is Meg." Charles said after dinner.
"TINY! She's going to teach us?" Marcus yelled.
"Marcus!" Charles warned.
"Okay, guys follow me, we're going to the bunker." I instructed them.
"Okay, I figured we start off with sharing our mutations, yes?" I asked. Everyone started nodding.
"Okay. I'll go first." I offered. I showed everyone my mutations. When I was done everyone stood there dumbfounded.
"Hank, your turn." I said suddenly shy.
"Oh, I'm so scared of you!" Marcus laughed. Hank growled at him.
"Gosh, Monkey boy!" Marcus laughed. Hank began walking towards Marcus. I put my hand in front of him, stopping him.
"Hank why don't you share?" I asked.
All of my brothers showcased their mutation. All the girls were in awe as Alex displayed his red rings of energy. Sean and I couldn't help, but smile.
Now all of the students had to share their mutation. All of their mutations were things I'd seen before or ones that I had. No wonder Charles put me in charge of this.
"Awesome! Your mutations are amazing!" I smiled. Everyone had to smile back, but of course.
"Hey, you, me, fight!" Marcus shouted pushing through the crowd to stand opposite of me.
"No." I simply said.
"Come on!" Marcus shouted sending one of his fireballs at me. I dodged it, but fell over. Hank catching me.
"Hey! I've been quiet, but you need to leave her be! She's younger than you are!" Alex shouted.
"Okay! Everyone go to bed!" Charles said tired of Marcus.
I was sitting in my bed with Hank. We were talking.
"So how was day one?" Hank asked me.
"Great! Other than Marcus." I groaned.
"He is a jerk." Hank said.
"Completely!" I agreed.
"Listen to me Meg. Okay really listen. I am giving you permission to defend yourself. I don't want any of these kids to hurt you anymore. I know you can beat these kids to a pulp no matter your age, but your too nice to do it. I don't want you taking all of this pain when you obviously don't have to." Hank said.
"I can't do that Hank! I know I have to defend myself, but it's just I can't!" I stumbled over my words.
"If you can't do that at least tell me Charles, Alex or Sean." Hank said.
"Okay." I agreed.
This day made me realize something. Only a select few of us are born with these powers. People say we don't have a choice, but I believe we do have a choice. Weather to use them for good or bad.
