Chapter 13: Back From The Future

Michelangelo uses one of Raphael's sais to break open the safe before seeing the weakened mutated staff that was the source of Gideon's mutation and power.

With hopeful prayers, Mikey takes the staff and flees the penthouse tower; he makes his way back to the ruined skyscraper, miserably trying not to look down on the bodies of his fallen brothers that were still in their places and have not been moved or touched since they died.

With the small vial of mutagen, he pours it on the staff before it glows bright, naturally restoring more power to the mutated staff.

This was it. It's now or never as the turtle closes his eyes and holds the staff close:

"Please...take me back to my original timeline twenty years ago...please"

Suddenly the mutated staff begins to grant Mikey's wish as it glows brightly like a star and zaps Michelangelo high in the air before the whole room begins to spin like a cyclone.

The turtle recognises this. It was the same way he went into the future and with his gear and weapons fading away, he realised the spell was working.

"I'm coming home, guys!!!" Mikey screamed.

April 13th 2017 ... New York City

The family watches in horror as Mikey vanished before their eyes to which Gideon evilly laughed:

"And that's what happens when you messed with me"

"You son of a bitch!!!" Leo angrily roared and was about to charge as Gideon when suddenly a portal opened and lunged out with a yell was Michelangelo, back from the future.

He directly kicks Gideon right in the face, sending the present villain flying to one of the tables and going unconscious on impact.

The young turtle lands on the ground on his knees and hands, panting heavily as he then sees his shocked family still alive which can mean one thing.

He was back in his original timeline.

"Mikey!!!" Leo happily cried out and ran to hold his baby brother.

Mikey felt breathless at Leo's warm embrace before Donnie and Raphael joined in the hug.

"We thought you were gone, little bro" Raphael happily gasped.

"Thank goodness you're alright" Donnie chirped gleefully.

"My son" Splinter let out a breath of pure joy but still feels bad for not going after Michelangelo sooner.

Raphael soon notices Mikey was not wearing his gear or mask as he joked about: "Gees, Mike, did that spell wreak your gear or something? You look butt naked here"

"Don't be stupid, Raph! We got shells, we're not exactly nude" Donnie groaned out in annoyance.

"I'm only joking! Grow a funny bone, will ya?" Raphael groaned back at Donnie.

Mikey knew they had no idea what he had experience and to see them the way they are beforehand just made Mikey cry hard as Leo immediately snuggled his baby brother:

"Hey, hey! It's alright, I'm here, Otōto; you're safe now and that man will not hurt you ever again"

"I just...you have no idea how over the moon I am to see you all here" Mikey loudly sobbed.
