After wiping away her tears, she rose to her feet and inhaled deeply, gathering her strength.
In a calm tone, she spoke, "Let's go "

As they walked on a well-trodden path, they saw a series of wooden cottages lining both sides of the way, resembling seashells scattered along the sandy shore. When they reached the hill where Annie's house was, she asked Henrik to wait for her.

Henrik politely agreed, understanding that Annie might have some private matter to discuss. He decided to wait patiently for her, taking in the beautiful scenery around him and enjoying the fresh air that enveloped him.

With a heart full of nostalgia, she ascended the steep hill, determined to reach her father. Despite the physical challenge of the climb, her emotional drive propelled her forward, each step bringing her closer to the reunion she so desperately yearned for.
Despite her trembling legs, she mustered up the strength to approach the door and reached out her hand to take hold of the handle. Her heart pounded as she turned the handle, only to find it shut.

《I couldn't help but wonder what the reason behind the closed door could be. I called my father several times to pay his attention; I knocked repeatedly with such force, which made my palm turn red, and it began to feel numb. I would give up on the idea he might be hanging out somewhere, but I noticed a shadow from under the door...I was so stubborn I did not stop until I finally heard an answer 》

"What the hell do you want from me? Leave me in peace!"

Edward's reply was delivered with a forceful and hostile tone. She flinched as she received his unexpected reaction, but soon she answered.

"This is me!... Annie.. your daughter!"

"I have no one called with his name...Now, leave!"

《As I heard his words, I was shocked. I tried to find any justification that might explain or excuse his cruel behaviour towards me. But despite my efforts, I found myself unable to come up with any reason that made sense...I did not understand why he kept denying me》

Without warning, the door burst open with great force, revealing Edward standing there with a frigid and unfeeling expression. As they made eye contact, the words that Annie intended to utter were scattered like leaves in the wind, carried away by the autumn's dry breeze. Then her eyes shifted toward his injured leg, which made an awful, bitter taste of guilt fill her mouth.

《 All of this is my fault...He is standing barely straight because of me...I could not stop blaming myself...I lowered my gaze to the ground, thinking he would extend his hand to wipe away the tears that I struggled to suppress in vain, but he did not 》

With teary eyes and a desperate voice, Annie spoke: "Dad!... tell me why are you treating me like this... If you are angry because I ruined everything, disappearing with no trace. I can explain. "

"No, there is no need... Go back to where you came from. Jones was right about you...You are burning fire that incinerates everything in its path. ", Edward said

《As my eyes widened and my jaw dropped in awe, I couldn't help but yearn for the possibility of waking up from what felt like a nightmare.》

Annie fooled herself by saying he was only in a moment of rage, that would soon dissipate _well, she was wrong this time_. As they conversed by the entrance, he walked away and turned his back. Without hesitation, she hurried towards him and embraced him tightly from behind, expressing her affection, but Edward firmly grasped her wrists and forcefully separated her tightly clasped fingers from one another. His grip was unwavering as he pried her digits apart.

Annie," Father!"

Edward was completely indifferent towards her and did not even bother to glance at her face as he told her to leave. Despite her desperate pleas and kneeling before him, he remained merciless, kicking her out as if she held no value or significance.
