There are so many books
Written about forbidden love
Why we romanticize agony, I will never know
It feels like someone is lightly leaning on
A blade that pierced a non fatal location
I will live on won't I?
Why is it forbidden to continue loving others
Yes I have no longer use for her son
But she was there for me when I had no one
Why can I not take her love with me as I go
We grew up together, we were just kids
I met her when I was little
Can she not attend my wedding?
Is it wrong to ask to go to hers?
If not my brother why bother, others would rehearse
I cannot leave them
for they did nothing wrong
I cannot shun their love any less than my own
So yes I will contact them
When I think fondly of their company
And wish I could have stayed to enjoy it more
