In my opinion, there's three generations of states in the first generation being the original 13 and an Vermont, Kentucky, and
Tennessee
The second generation, all the states that became states before the Civil War, but after the original 13 and Vermont, Kentucky, and Tennessee And then the states after the Civil War

Let me elaborate
The first generation is the original 13 district Vermont, Kentucky, Tennessee, and GOV
The second generation begins with
Ohio
And ends with Nevada
Nebraska starts the third generation of states Hawaii being where is the generation end
Puerto Rico is part of the second generation
