SAARANSH

I was sitting with ELLA. No. We both were sitting in my car and I was driving her home. It sounded unbelievable to my own ears but it wasn't. The moment I saw her in the the party I was enchanted. She was dressed simple. Nothing over the top was done but she was the only girl I could see in the crowd. Because she was different.

When I had grabbed her hand to take her dancing, I was really afraid that she wouldn't like it but she never said anything. And the way she forgot all her worries the moment she started dancing, I swear I couldn't take my eyes off her.

While I was recollecting all the moments with her, I suddenly remembered that she was sitting with me right here and I was wasting my time by not talking to her. As I turned my eyes to meet hers, I saw that she was shivering.

"Where's your jacket, Ella?", I asked immediately.

"I... I foorrget it att Nihaaaal's house", she stuttered.

Damn!

"Ella...", I raised my brows questioning her carelessness.

"What? I.... Justtt forgettt myyy cooat", she replied innocently.

I pulled over my car and increased the level of the heater. Then I reached to my back seat, grabbed my jacket and handed it to her.
She didn't take it. Obviously. She was stubborn.

"You wanna catch a fever?"

She thought another minute and then took it.

After 10 minutes, I felt her relax. She asked, "Do you know where I live?"

I was about to say yes but remembered that I wasn't supposed to know her home. So I shook my head. Then she told me the address. Her house was quite at a distance and I had no intention to sit without uttering a word. As I didn't think she was going to make conversation, I started myself.

"How are you managing it? Living in Nanital?", I asked curiously.

"To be honest, I am loving it. This is what I wanted so I guess it makes sense.", she shrugged. "I have fought with my parents over it. So..."

"You must miss them.", I assumed but I know I was right. It was visible in her eyes and tone that she was really missing her family and was a little sad too but her misery couldn't be seen easily.

"That I do. But I couldn't have it both ways."

"I see.", I thought about it for a second.

"You tell me.", she said.

I was surprised that she had asked me a question. "What?", I asked her getting confused. What did she want to ask me?

"You didn't tell me that you are rich.", she asked seeming disappointed.

"Oh...that. I didn't know it was important."

"I think I should have known that I am studying with The Saaransh Malhotra.", she said with a smile.

"I am not rich. That's my father not me." I replied hoping she won't think that I was one of those spoiled brats of rich dads.
