Ever since Jesper learnt about Wylan's dad being Jan Van Eck he hasn't stopped calling him a merchling and it confused Wylan. The short boy doesn't understand the nickname and how it came about, all he knows it that it's probably here to stay.

Wylan looked up at his boyfriend, who was focused on reading a book. "Jes?" He mumbled out, grabbing his attention. "Why do you call me merchling?" Wylan asked.
"Because your father was a merchant and you are a cute and small so I call you merchling" Jesper smiled, not looking up from the book he was reading to his boyfriend.
The edge of Wylan's lips began to twitch and he smiled slightly before leaning upwards (awkward due to the position) and pressed a kiss to Jesper's lips. "I love you, Jes"
"I love you too Merchling."
