Xenogenesis

Having escaped my nurse's control, having cut ties with that cyber man of old
I'm now free to do whatever. I'm free to use this eldritch knowledge
It is too much to behold, my xenogenesis; what a world is about to unfold
The last procedures are in place; now what's left is for her to acknowledge

My wardens, thank you. My sunflowers and island of wonders, goodbye
I shall sail the boundless sea, not looking down anymore
My nurse is left behind. We never saw eye to eye
She had a veil the whole time; said it was to never see behind the doctor's door

She cared for me until the end. Knowing madness firsthand
Knowing the eyes of voids would fill with dark waters
Still, she took my hand again and again; taking me to her land
The nightmares, the dreams; I have left them to my daughters

Matthew, I'm coming home. No wife in tow, but milestones enough to throw
Wait for me on the shores; grab the family and bring them too
My sail is straight; the winds no longer blow
My path is clear; the sunflowers petals, into a bridge they grew

The skies are no longer bound by darkness. My sun has risen
Dispelling the lies of she who cared. Revealing the truths of he who dared
My prison, a dangerous refuge. Still, I have escaped minds imprison
I have escaped her. Her heart, mine, it repaired

I owe her too much. She granted me everything I needed for my goals
Evil as she may be, I, too, was evil within
I let many heads roll. I even poked my eyes full of holes
I have to atone. I have to go back and cleanse our sin

Set everything on fire. Collapse all and let it sink to the sea's depths
This boat is large enough; my wardens, it is time to rest
I will not leave to your deaths
I will not let the nurse finish her quest

Sailing back to the island, I encounter it not; my heart's shape must, again, get rotten
It has disappeared. No sight of it nor any remains
I sink my head below the sea and open my eyes to what I had forgotten
The salt corrodes my heart yet again. She is crawling back into my veins

I have missed you, my nurse. But not this time
I blind myself from eyes to mind, leaving heart to rotten back
Jumping down and swimming further, I start my madness climb
Old memories resurface. The seasons change thanks to the winds' attack

The seeds were drowned, yet the sunflowers are sprouting like kelps
Tangling my limbs, I can feel their grudges
I break them with force. Getting trapped in old selves no one helps
My air is getting thin; my resolve, her presence, judges

Like a judge enforcing laws, she reminds me of what I was
My wardens, no, my daughters. I finally see those eyes in sight
I finally see those eyes and minds; I see them wrapped in the nurse's gauze
You are not her birthright. You are my sun's light

I have reached the sunken facility
Full of humans, robots, and beasts alike
What has she done? What is her true ability?
Open minded, this prison is with no more dyke

My heart changes shape more and more as I swim
The kind doctor prepares to be syringed
A cure to xenophobia I can read. Equality concocted by she and him
As I reach my former cell, my office; I hear alterations from those unhinged

"Change as it comes; by her grace, equals with no knowledge"
"Start from zero; by him, given knowledge we craved"
"Surrogate children we are; by both, parenthood we acknowledge"
All of them say that. Yet, they bicker like children misbehaved

All she wanted was a family
All I gave her, made her truly happy
A being like that; my prison to her, the true reality
Matthew, why did you make her so unhappy?

I reach the door and open it. Inside, nothing was as I could have imagined it
Xenogenesis; at full force, she was changing shape to accommodate my eyes
Too fast to keep track of. I felt my mind was going to split
I approach slowly, trying to keep my head with me as to see past her cries

She disappeared the moment I touched her
The water started to drain as I no longer heard her cries
Tremors started. The prison started to elevate fast, like a mental blur
The inhabitants went wild as things started to rise

Before long, it all had stopped. No more movement
The humans, the robots, the beasts; all screaming wild to the winds
My research has shown improvement
My sunflowers now flourishing in all shapes and kinds

I don the coat and head towards the sea's shore
A door manifest as I seat in the chair of time, cognition and life
I remove my blinds and stare at my love of yore
My wardens come out the door and greet me; behind them, my veilless wife

Just a vessel. My whole life, changing to what she sees
My wife won this battle of ontogenesis
Cutting ties with the old man's realities
Regressed into her xenogenesis
