Maybelle leaned on her bike in total boredom before groaning in frustration taking another look at her watch. Soon four familiar bikes came up beside her "You boys are late" Maybelle lectured "It's Mike's fault" Dustin grumbled.
Maybelle rose an eyebrow at Mike "I forgot to get money so I stole from Nancy" Mike sighed Maybelle couldn't help but laugh at his reasoning.
Maybelle grabbed a hand of coins out of her pocket and split it for the four boys before going in after the boys.

Maybelle got out of her car hearing loud music as a car drove by taking a spot across the parking lot.
the license plate said California.
Maybelle went to her locker before meeting up with Johnathan at his locker "How are you on this wonderful day" Maybelle mumbled sarcastically Johnathan chuckled
"Hey take this" Tina shoved a bright orange piece of paper in Maybelle's hand and walked off Maybelle looked at the paper and couldn't help but scoff.
"you're coming to this" Nancy gave Johnathan a flyer "Come and get sheet faced" Johnathan read off the flyer "It's funnier when you say that out loud" Maybelle snickered
"no, I'm not" Johnathan denied "I can't let you sit all alone, Halloween, that's just not acceptable" Nancy tried reasoning.
"Well, you can relax I'm not gonna be alone I'm going trick-or-treating with Will" Johnathan explained
"All night? Nancy asked
"Yeah "
"no, no way you're gonna be home by 8:00 listening to the talking heads and reading Vonnegut or something" Nancy guessed
"spot on" Maybelle teased
"sounds like a nice night"
"Will you come May" Nancy asked
"nope I'm not a party girl" Maybelle denied
"come on Maybelle, Johnathan just come I mean who knows you might even meet someone" Nancy tried getting them to come.
Nancy let out a shriek as Steve came behind her and lifted her up Nancy turned around "Oh my god! take those stupid things off" Nancy told Steve who was wearing a pair of sunglasses inside
"I missed you," Steve told her "It's been like an hour" Steve removed his sunglasses before Nancy and Steve began kissing
Maybelle groaned "And this is our cue to leave" Maybelle and Johnathan went down the hall leaving the love birds.
"did you hear about the newest gossip," Eddie asked sitting beside Maybelle "Oh? Maybelle asked "There a new boy everyone loves" Eddie mimicked a very high-pitched girl's voice Maybelle couldn't help but laugh at his impression.
"this morning I saw a car license plate that said California" Maybelle remembered "Gross California boy" Maybelle groaned dramatically dropping her head on the table they both cracked up.
Maybelle sat in Algebra the last class of the day "Is this seat taken" an unfamiliar voice spoke Maybelle looked up from her book to see a guy with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair and wore a cocky grin Maybelle blinked must be the boy everyone is talking about Maybelle thought "No" Maybelle mumbled going back to her book.
the guy chuckled "Name's Billy Hargrove" Billy introduced himself now standing in front of her desk Maybelle flinched slightly "Maybelle Grey" Maybelle introduced herself. The bell rang cutting the conversation short
Maybelle anxiously chewed at her pencil eraser as she felt a ton of eyes on her one belonged to Billy while others were glares from the girls the bell rang and Maybelle bolted out of the classroom
"Eddie" Maybelle ran to catch up to him "You cursed me with bad luck" Maybelle huffed Eddie rose his eyebrow "I got the California boy in my last class and he sits right next to me, and he would not stop staring" Maybelle grumbled accidentally snapping her pencil causing her to jump Eddie giving her a head pat "that's unfortunate my fellow maiden but you shouldn't break a sword before you slay the dragon," Eddie told her before walking off.
Maybelle blinked before chuckling and went to her locker to drop off her books and head straight home
Maybelle walked through a forest before walking a barbed wire and walking up steps to a creaky old cabin open the screen door before knocking twice and then waited before reaping it again the door unlocked before the door opened Maybelle walked inside before locking the door "Your back early" a soft voice was heard.
"Yeah had an eventful day" Maybelle chuckled before taking off her shoes and throwing her bag onto a couch "Really? Maybelle questioned
El was sitting at the table pouring syrup onto a plate of Eggos El smiled before grabbing a second fork "Want to share? El asked Maybelle smiled before taking the fork.
Hours later El opens the door for Hopper as he arrives late Maybelle left her room and joined them at the table the three eating dinner together and reminding them that waffles are for dessert and not dinner.
Maybelle excused herself to go to the bathroom Maybelle exit the bathroom feeling a shiver run down her spine Maybelle went to her room to grab a hoodie when she opened her closet it wasn't her closet it was Hawkins in the upsidedown with red clouds and a tall black creature leaned over the town as lighting struck around it Maybelle walked backward her widened her mouth suddenly dry her heart dropped.
the fear has taken over Maybelle rooted her to the ground warning her this isn't over.
