It felt good to be cleansed of the past few days collection of dirt and grime. Being careful of my stitches was easy, but I couldn't help but admire the handiwork of Leslie. It was delicate and the stitches were made to work with my body. As if she knew I wouldn't sit still like she recommended. Especially considering the ache in my side having dulled significantly.
I dried myself off and clothed in the clothes that I was grateful to be provided. Acid washed, torn-at-the-knee jeans and a dark green tee tee to cover the undergarments also provided. It all fit, thankfully, and I made a mental note to thank Barbara. If I got to see her again, that is.
I heard a light knock on the door, pulling me from my thoughts with a start. I had to calm my racing heart, remembering where I was and that I needn't panic. The person at the door was, more than likely, someone I knew already.
"You good in there?" Dick's voice questioned, bringing me an assured wave of relief.
"I don't know," I answered jokingly, "I might need a hero to save me."
"So you're saying I can come in?" Dick wondered, the curiosity practically leaking through the door.
"Yes, Dick. I'm decent and ready to be blindfolded once more so you can take me back to my cell," I sighed overdramatically.
With a light laugh, Dick entered the bathroom, barely opening the door to slip inside. He gave me a once over and nodded his satisfaction. I returned the soft smile he was radiating and handed him the bandaging that was around my face in the beginning.
"I think you'll be okay without. Besides, I want you to meet my brothers," Dick told me, "Without the masks."
"But what about the big bad bat lurking around?" I wondered with a mild worry.
"Alfred assured him that you can keep secrets and even went as far as saying that the house would be a lot better than the cave," Dick explained.
"Well, he's right," I agreed, feeling my smile grow more genuine as I placed the bandaging back on the sink counter, "I'll have to thank him later."
"Come on then," he urged, pulling the bathroom door open wide enough for the both of us to exit, "but stick close, it's easy to get lost if you don't know this place."
I responded with a nervous chuckle, following Dick nevertheless. I did my best to take in quick admiration for the the mansion I was being walked through, also taking a mental map of the few turns we took. We eventually took a staircase down and Dick took a turn to lead me into a living area where four others were gathered by the hearth. Alfred was easy to pick out, clad nicely in a suit and pouring what looked to be hot tea for the three having a loud discussion. A discussion that seemed to be escalating into an argument.
"Jay, Tim, Damian," Dick piped up, catching the other three's attention, "I got someone for you guys to meet."
"Oh great, another one of your girlfriends?" one of the three spoke up.
He had broad features on top of his dark eyes that paired nicely with his black hair; hair that had a singular white streak admist it's darkness. I noted the scars that were on his face, making his glower seem a little more rough than he probably meant it. Or he was actually just that upset to meet me. His crossed arms seemed to confirm my theory and make me a tad nervous.
"Be nice, Jason. She's the one that's been in the cave for a while," the shortest of the three stated, giving me a cautious smile while holding out his hand, "I'm Tim. Nice to finally meet you, Nova."
Tim seemed like a nice kid. He was obviously too smart for his own age and held an air of confidence that made me smile. He also had dark hair -but all the bat boys did so it didn't say much- but his eyes were light-colored similarly to Dick's. I took his hand and shook in semblance to a casual greeting.
"You too," I requited, "It's good to finally stretch my legs."
"I'll bring some more tea for everyone," Alfred chimed, giving a quick dip of his head before exiting.
"And this grumpy pants, here," Dick spoke up, siding up to the last person who seem to refuse to remotely acknowledge my presence, "is Damian."
"You're all the Wayne brothers..." I realized at last, "this means that we're -that I'm- in Wayne manor."
"That's right. And if you were to even subtly disclose the location of the cave to anyone outside of this room -exception to Barbara and Alfred- you'll find yourself in more trouble than you can afford," a new voice threatened from behind me.
I was caught off guard and turned, feeling every nerve go on edge by the mere voice of Bruce Wayne. I was unsure how to respond so I felt no response was better than any. I simply nodded my clear acknowledgement and gave a weary smile.
"Father, can I be dismissed from this idiocy?" Damian spoke up at last.
"No," Bruce answered plainly, "we're all having a talk here and now. Especially if Nova is to stay with us."
"What do you mean 'stay'?" I questioned, "I heard no plan that involved me staying here."

FanfictionThis is going to be slow going as I've recently acquired a job and classes aren't helping. I will come up with a solid description eventually. However, as a basis, this is going to be based more on the comics and I will incorporate some of the shows...
