"You can guarantee this?"

"Yes."

I stood on my left leg as I contemplated my choices, then remembered I was ungodly bored, but there's one more guarantee that I wanted.

"And my Aunts' won't know about this?"

"Why the hell would I even tell them?" The tablet asked in a confused tone.

"I don't know, you could be a snitch." I chided slyly.

"Do you really think that they would believe my word over yours?" He said before adding, "Besides, I ain't no snitch."

Little did I know at the time, that man literally couldn't be a snitch since he was not just a pirate, but the KING of the pirates.

Silence overtook my room while I pretended to be contemplating his words even though I had already made my decision.

"As long as I get food I'm in." I said after a minute of silence.

"As like, compensation or something?" The floating tablet asked.

"Actually, now I want brownies and ice cream instead."

"I'll get you whatever you want as long as you do this. Now!" Tablet Man exclaimed, cutting me off from my next change of mind, "You're going to need a big jacket."

Here I was, sitting on this weird floating tablet, trying to reach my winter jacket that was put away for the spring.

Roger, the man in the tablet, finally told me his name after I called him a Chain Smoker, proposed this idea after I told him that I One: couldn't walk, and Two: would get in so much trouble if my Aunts' saw me walking and sneaking around.

So then he floated me down the stairs to the big closet by the front door, lifting me up so that I could reach my jacket that was put away on the highest shelf in the closet.

That's what I get for both of my Aunts' being super tall I guess.

"Almost... got it!" I whispered, extending my arm as far as my little arms could.

Then, just like a horror movie, I heard the front door unlock.

'Crap crap crap CRAP!' I screamed in my mind, scared out of my wits if anyone saw what I was doing right now.

"Can you fit on the top shelf?" The tablet whispered to me urgently.

"What?!" I whisper-yelled back.

"Nevermind, you're fitting on that top shelf whether you like it or not!"

Without any time to respond, I grabbed the closet door handle and quickly shut it before the front door opened, and with no warning, the tablet flew me up to the highest shelf, almost hitting my head on the ceiling with how fast it went.

Even though I felt like complaining, I held it back once I heard the door shut, opting to grab my jacket and throw it over my body before the tablet gently landed itself and me on the shelf.

I curled into the smallest ball I could and held my breath the second light hit the walls of the closet.

"Hazel? (Y/n)? I'm home!"

It was Aunt Violet.

The sound of clothes ruffling hit my ears as Aunt Violet shook off her jacket and grabbed a coat hanger.
