The scene opens with flashbacks, narrated by a British accented boy (Cornelius).

"Russia. The largest country in the world. It's a land of beauty and culture. But also violence and conquest. That's where I come from. When Russia was at the peak of its power, other countries grew jealous of all the land it possessed, and slowly hatched their plans to tear it apart piece by piece. Our story begins in difficult times. Eastern Europe was threatened with war, as Russia launched a daring invasion on neighboring Ukraine. After failing to capture Kyiv, the Russian forces were unable to gain significant ground in the eastern regions, as the Ukrainians continued to put up fierce resistance. While the Russian Army was occupied fighting a war, no one was left to keep the peace. Chaos and crime spread, as innocent became victims in a lawless nation. In an effort to protect their children, the Russian families decided it was in their best interest to have them sent abroad for safekeeping. Little did they suspect that those children would be forced to trade their childhood to become the littlest outlaws."
