Mum, Stephanie and Sophie talk over one another in unison
They're outraged by the letter
"You guys need to pipe down, Lola is sleeping," I say and they continue babbling amongst each other in hushed but still fever pitch tones
"She's been talking to Chelsea," I randomly add
"You've let that girl in this house haven't you?" Stephanie says suspiciously
"Her intentions are now pure," I simply state flash backing to that near fateful night
I'm telling the truth
Her intentions are pure and I'm extremely alert and aware if they deviate
"What do you mean now?" Stephanie questions her voice low and accusatory
"Not now Steph! That bitch has been spreading shit about our brother's parenting skills and filling that woman's head with ridiculousness
It's bad enough he's had that fucking social worker on his arse for the last two years," Sophie defends and I flash Stephanie a smug smile
"I'm calling our lawyer," mum finalises throwing her arms in the air
Stephanie and mum leave half an hour later just after Lola has woken up but Sophie remains
"Have you told them yet?" Sophie asks as she hides behind the curtain from Lola
"No but I'll do it soon," I sigh heavily flipping through my work papers
"You mean on the day you decide to leave!" Sophie berets
"Shut up Sophie or else Lola will find you," I instruct and Sophie keeps quiet
Lola bounds in the room excitedly calling for Sophie
She gazes at me with glitter and mischief flourishing in her green eyes
Discreetly I point towards the curtain and Lola stealthily creeps up before hugging the body and declaring the all too familiar words "I FOUND YOU"
Sophie laughs heartily and hugs Lola before tumbling with her gently to the floor
