All around Steve are flying bat demons, who try their best to kill him as the group tries their best to kill them. They use the paddles to smack down the bats and use their feet to kick them away, until one lands on Lily's back and knocks her to the ground. Eddie springs to action to pull the thing off of her, and for the very first time, Lily feels helpless. She doesn't feel connected to her powers... she doesn't feel connected to anything.

" Jesus H. Christ!" Eddie shouts as he slams the paddle down to the ground as Lily stands up.

" Are you okay?" Nancy asks as she checks on her ex.

" Well, they took about a pound of flesh," Steve states as he looks down at his shirtless chest covered in wounds, " But other than that, yeah never better."

" Uh, do you guys think these bats have like, rabies?" Robin asks as she kneels down and shines her flashlight down on one of the slain bats, " It's just like, rabies are like my number one greatest fear. And I think we should get you to a doctor like, really soon because once the symptoms set in, it's too late, you're already dead."

" I think we have bigger problems than that," Lily gulps, her eyes locked on the dozens of bats flying right toward them, in a sky covered in grey clouds with red lighting.

The exact same sky she's seen before.

All eyes then follow the bats and watch as they pile around the portal the humans just came through.

" Alright, there's not that many," Steve comments, " Lily, you can fry them."

" Why me?" Lily asks as she keeps her eyes locked on the bats.

" Uh, magic."

" I don't have magic. Not here."

" What do you mean not here?"

" Our magic is centered in the Earth. We give what we take, blah blah blah, but I don't have a connection in this world."

" Alright," Steve sighs, " Plan B, we can take them... right?"

But his suspicions fall short as more screeches rumble through the skies, signaling a much bigger and much more dangerous threat looming up above.

" You were saying?" Robin asks as the skies rumble with red lightning.

Nancy very quickly gets somewhat familiar with the surroundings and decides to lead everyone into the woods in order to stray away from the bloodthirsty demon bats, and they run like hell. All of their hearts thump like crazy as they sprint to the woods and fear for their life.

They find themselves to be in the Upside Down, in a world they know little about, and a world that wants to kill them.

A world that Lily has no connection with, and thus has no magic in. To her knowledge, no witch has ever wandered into this world, and so it may be impossible to connect with it.

At least in their world, Lily feels as though she has some control, just the slightest bit. Her magic gives her strength... and without it she just feels like a helpless little girl.
