9. "I Promise.."

'No One's Pov'

It had been awhile since Kiri was admitted to the medical pod. Y/n was comforting Tsireya. Tsireya was in  full on tears, as she blamed herself for what happened to Kiri. Y/n reassured Tsireya that it wasn't her fault. Then Ao'nung and his friends walked up the beach. Y/n remembered Lo'ak went to go apologize and never came back. Y/n felt a sense of worry.

"Reya, I'm so sorry, but I need to go speak to Ao'nung about Lo'ak. I'll be right back" Y/n got up and ran to Ao'nung and his friends. Neteyam noticed Y/n running and followed her. Neteyam approached as he noticed Y/n yelling at Ao'nung.

"What's going on" Neteyam asked.

Y/n never took her eyes off of Ao'nung. "Where the hell is he Ao'nung, he left with you, where is he" Neteyam realized she was talking about Lo'ak. Neteyam glared at Ao'nung and grabbed him by his hair. "Where the hell is my brother, the sun is going down, where is he" Ao'nung let out a cry of pain. "Okay, okay, we took him outside the reef and left him there but I thought he'd figure out how to get back". Y/n felt anger rise in her body. She moved Neteyam out of the way and dragged Ao'nung by his hair to their families pod, with Neteyam following. Neteyam liked seeing this side of Y/n.

"Mighty.." Kiri said as she was talking to Jake. Y/n and Neteyam walked in the pod. Y/n was relieved to see that Kiri was awake, but there were more important things right now. Jake and Kiri turned to see Y/n with a handful of Ao'nung's hair. Y/n shoved Ao'nung forward. Neteyam stepped up to Ao'nung. 

"Tell him what you told us" Ao'nung sighed before he spoke.

~A Little Later~

Y/n was pacing back and forth worried about Lo'ak. Neteyam came into the pod and walked over to her. The two looked at each other, the sounds of voices calling for Lo'ak echoed. Neteyam pulled Y/n into a hug. Resting his chin on her head as one hand had a tight grip on the back of her head, and the other around her body. Y/n lightly cried into Neteyam's chest. The two rocked back and forth slowly.

"Y/n, please stop crying. I promise you Lo'ak will be okay" Neteyam spoke softly. Y/n thought back to her vision. She felt it in her heart that Lo'ak was the one on that leaf. Y/n cared so much for Lo'ak. They were the same age, when they were younger they did everything together. Lo'ak was her best friend, she didn't know if she was strong enough to live without him.

"I know your bond with Lo'ak is strong, but you have to trust that he is okay" Y/n looked up at Neteyam. Again their faces were inches apart. Neteyam couldn't help himself and gently placed his lips on Y/n's. Neteyam felt hungry for more, he's waited so long. He bit Y/n's bottom lip and then slowly kissed along the side of her jaw. Y/n tightened her grip on Neteyam. But she pulled away when the horn blew. Y/n pushed past Neteyam and walked to the docks outside their pod. She saw Lo'ak and her heart jumped.

Lo'ak signed to the Na'vi that brought him back. He turned and walked towards Ao'nung pissed off. Jake stopped him. "Hey, let me check you out" Jake scanned all over his sons body for injuries. Lo'ak looked for Y/n and locked eyes with her. She smiled at him and Lo'ak's heart skipped a beat.

"He's okay! Just a few scratches" Jake called out. Neytiri walked to her son. "I pray for the strength that I won't pluck the eyeballs of my youngest son" Lo'ak slowly moved his head away from his mother's hand. 

"No, Ao'nung knows better than to take your children beyond the reef, the blame is his" Tonowari put Ao'nung on his knee. Lo'ak sighed. "No it is not Ao'nung's fault, it was my idea to go beyond the reef. Ao'nung tried to stop me" Tonowari let Ao'nung stand up. Jake pulled Lo'ak with him. "I'll deal with this one" Y/n gave Neteyam a confused look.

"Dad you told me to try and make friends with these kids that's all I was trying to do-" Jake stopped Lo'ak. "I don't want to hear it, you brought shame to this family". Y/n's ears flattened as she heard Jake say those things to Lo'ak. Lo'ak nodded his head. "Can I go now". "You cause anymore trouble and I'll tie a knot in you tail, got it" Jake spoke harshly. Lo'ak nodded his head as he walked off.

Y/n stood in front of Jake. 

"I would never disrespect you, but Jake, Ao'nung told you himself that he took Lo'ak outside the reef. You were also the one that insisted Lo'ak apologize to him. How could you say such things to your son, who looks up to you, who wants your approval and for you to be proud of him. You sometimes don't think about how badly your words affect your kids. Just something to think about" Y/n turned away from the family and went off to find Lo'ak.

Lo'ak was sitting on the rocks. Y/n walked up and sat down next to him.

"Lo'ak, why would you stick up for Ao'nung". "I know how it feels to be one big disappointment". Y/n grabbed Lo'ak's hand and squeezed it tightly. "You listen to me damnit. You ARE NOT a disappointment, nor have you EVER been one, I need you to understand that". Lo'ak turned to Y/n. He noticed the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.

"What if something happened to you...Then who would have stuck up for Ao'nung...He could have gotten you fucking killed...Lo'ak I don't know what I'd do without you-"

Lo'ak place his hand on Y/n's cheek, pulling her face closer to his. Their lips connected. Lo'ak's heart fluttered, as he pulled Y/n's body onto his. Y/n sat in Lo'ak's lap. She slowly put her arms around his neck. Lo'ak wrapped his arms around her waist, holding onto her as if his life depended on it. Lo'ak was happy, nothing else mattered in this moment. Lo'ak felt Y/n rock her hips lightly against him. Causing him to let out a low groan. The two pulled apart and pressed their foreheads together. 

"Y/n, you never have to worry, I'm never gonna leave you..."
