6. "Back off fish lips"

Tsireya turned to them. "In the mean time, we can start to help you learn how to ride Ilu". Lo'ak pressed his lips together. "Think we should wait for Y/n and Kiri" Rotxo looked at Tsireya.  "Is that okay with the three of you" Tsireya asked. "That is fine with us". Tsireya smiled and nodded as they all swam to the shore. Lo'ak and Neteyam walked Tuk back to their pod. Lo'ak went with Neteyam and sat on the sand. 

"Its not just me right bro" Lo'ak asked Neteyam as he looked out into the water. Neteyam put his hand on his brothers shoulder. "I've felt the same way about her that you do, for a while now baby bro". Lo'ak turned to Neteyam. "So what do we do, cause Ao'nung is really starting to piss me off". Neteyam sighed, "Well we can tell Y/n how we feel and let her decide who she wants to be with. She might pick you, or me, or maybe even both of us. Or we don't tell her and let things play out". Lo'ak sat there just staring out into the water.

"We should tell her but, not right now" . Neteyam nodded, "I'm ready when you are baby brother". The two brothers stood up and looked over towards the dock. Ao'nung was walking with Y/n and Kiri was walking with Tsireya and Rotxo. Lo'ak turned to Neteyam. "One thing I won't hesitate to do though, is knock Ao'nung's teeth down his fucking throat". Neteyam chuckled at his brother. "Calm down mighty warrior, lets go" Neteyam walked past his brother and over to Y/n and the others, Lo'ak following. 

Y/n smiled when she saw Lo'ak and Neteyam. She stopped waited as they approached her. "Hey, where did you run off to Skxawng". Lo'ak spoke with a smile on his face. "Explored the ocean with Kiri, Skxawng". Y/n spat back, with a smirk. Tsireya walked up to them, "Are you ready to learn how to ride Ilu". Y/n smiled and turned to Tsireya, "Yes! Let's do it!". Lo'ak and Neteyam smiled at how excited Y/n was. The group followed Tsireya and Ao'nung to a specific spot. Ao'nung got into the water and started to call Ilu. A swarm of them swam around him. 

"If you want to live here, you have to learn to ride" Ao'nung said looking directly at Y/n with a very small smile. Y/n moved a strand of her hair out of her face. Neteyam noticed Lo'ak's reaction and hit him with his tail. Lo'ak softened up and paid attention to Ao'nung. Ao'nung pointed to Lo'ak. "Forest boy, you're up first". Lo'ak walked into the water, got on the back of the Ilu. Y/n noticed the way Lo'ak was sitting and walked out into the water. 

"What are you doing". Lo'ak asked quietly. "Helping you not look like an idiot". Y/n put her hand on Lo'ak's thigh adjusting it. Tsireya looked at Ao'nung confused. Kiri stepped next to Tsireya. "We rode Ilu earlier when we drifted off from the group, we are kind of getting use to how they roam" Tsireya smiled, "I admire your out-going personality". Kiri turned to Tsireya and smiled.  

"Skxawng! Stop moving" Y/n said annoyed. Kiri and Neteyam sat there laughing at Y/n and Lo'ak. Y/n went around to the same side as Ao'nung. "Move" Y/n hissed at Ao'nung. Ao'nung stepped back giving Y/n her space. Lo'ak shifted his leg. 

"LO'AK" Y/n glared at him. Lo'ak laughed as he fixed his leg. Y/n put her hand on Lo'ak's thigh. "Make the bond gently, feel her, her strength" Lo'ak reached behind him slowly bringing his braid forward. Y/n caught herself getting lost, in the way that Lo'ak looked. Small water droplets running down his chest. He seemed to move in slow motion. Y/n was snapped out of her thoughts. 

"Now what" Lo'ak said smirking at Y/n. She cleared her throat, "Put your hand here". Y/n guided Lo'ak's hand. "Now you must hold on tight, brace yourself for when she dives, when you are under the water, you can kind of let your body float above her, but don't let go, got it?" Lo'ak nodded before he turned his head looking forward. Y/n looked back at Ao'nung and his friends, Ao'nung was glued to her, smirking as he stared. Y/n looked back at Lo'ak and smiled.

"You got this" Y/n patted Lo'ak's leg, before she walked away standing behind Ao'nung and his friends. Ao'nung made a noise and the Ilu took off, diving in the water. Shortly after Lo'ak fell off the Ilu. Ao'nung laughed as he looked back at his friends and Y/n. Tsireya, Kiri and Neteyam laughed. Y/n put her hand over her mouth trying not to let Lo'ak see her laughing. Lo'ak came back to the surface and turned looking at everyone.
