"Did you watch the news about the car accident?"

When she mentioned it, my heart dropped. There's no way.. I didn't want to believe it.

"Y-Yeah?"

"Your b-brother... He's the one that got hit! Please get here a-as soon as possible.."

I instantly hung up the phone and quickly ran to the hospital she mentioned. My feet were in so much pain because I was running with my slippers on, but right now I needed to know if what Bora was saying was true and not some stupid lie..

I kept on sprinting as if I was in a race for life or death. I was so scared in that moment. I hoped it was all a lie and everything that I heard wasn't real..

I reached the hospital in less than 10 minutes and quickly rushed to talk with the available receptionist.

"E-Excuse me, I'm looking for a patient named Kim Yoojung. Is he hospitalized here?"

The reception lady glanced at me before looking into her computer and talking to the other receptionist about the name I just mentioned.

"Yes he is, are you someone close to him?"

"Y-Yes, I'm his sister."

"Please wait a moment."

The fuck you mean a moment? My brother is in here, I need to see him right now! How I wish I had told her that, but all I was thinking of was Yoojung and how much pain he must have felt.. poor him.

"He's undergoing surgery in floor 3, corridor 2. You may go."

"Thank you!"

I quickly rushed to the stairs and ran to the 3rd floor, almost stumbling down. I got to the corridor and saw Bora and Handong sitting on one of the couches, both distressed. I quickly ran up to them and the moment they saw me, they rushed to hug me.

"Yoohyeon.. I-I'm scared..."

"It's okay Bora, it's Yoojung we're talking about. He's a strong guy and he'll be fine.."

Please be fine...

"When did it happen?"

"Exactly 30 minutes ago. Me and Handong were coming back from eating takeout and we saw a car hit someone infront of us and when we saw it was Yoojung- *sobbing* I was so scared Yoohyeon.."

I pulled Bora in a very tight hug and let her sob in my shoulder while Handong was sitting on the couch, sighing out of worry. A single tear rolled down my cheek and I looked at the surgery room's window to see my brother's state and felt my heart beat in pain. Please Yoojung... stay strong for me.. You're all I have.

3 hours have passed and I was still in the hospital with Bora and Handong, with them dozing off on each side of my shoulders. A little while later, one of the surgeons came out of the surgery room and I instantly stood up, making the two girls beside me wake up, but they weren't aware of what was happening yet.

"I-Is my brother okay, doctor?

"He's stable. He had a few broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and a broken clavicle, but the surgery went well by a miracle. We'll transfer him to room B-302 in a minute."

We all sighed in relief and a tear rolled down my cheek. Thank goodness he'll be okay. I felt Bora's hand caress my shoulder and she waved to get the doctor's attention.

"Excuse me doctor, but by any chance, were the doers of the hit and run found?"

"Yes, one is a man of the same age as Mr. Kim Yoojung and the other one is his family member, most probably his younger sibling."

"D-Does that mean they'll be charged with attempted murder?"

"Not if the victim decides to not press any charges. But if he does, they will most probably be in trial."

"Have their names been revealed yet?"

"Not yet, I'm sorry. If you may excuse me, I need to run a check up on my other patients. I will pray for his recovery to go well."

I looked at Bora and Handong then back at the surgery door that got opened and a fully bandaged up Yoojung was transferred out from the surgery room. I watched as the nurses slowly escorted him to his room. Bora gently hugged my arm and nervously spoke to me.

"Yoohyeon, this isn't who I think it is, right?"

"What do you mean?"

"You should turn around.."

I did as she said and saw her pointing towards the TV screen to listen to the news. What I heard afterwards, broke me down in tears and loud sobs..

"The perpetrators have been confirmed to be Kim Junji and his younger sister-

Kim Minji."
