Part 5 Life, Victory, and Other Reasons I'm Happy

Coral: Well, I don't know if I'm going to go out with V anymore. I know you say that you approve, but I don't know if it's the best idea.

Brooke: What? Why? (Brooke's a little surprised.)

(Coral frowns.)

Brooke: What is it?

Coral: Well, V is a prince, and he probably won't want to date me if he finds out where I've been. Or at least, his family might disapprove. And I haven't told V the full truth yet. How... how am I gonna tell V about everything? He deserves to know, and I don't want to lie to him about things- I can't keep lying about things- but I don't know how to tell him... (Brooke looks over at Coral, who keeps staring straight with a slight frown.)

(Brooke grabs onto Coral's hand.)

Brooke: [quiet] I already told him. (She slightly looks away.)

Coral: You... you did? (She turns, surprised.)

Brooke: Yeah. He was very understanding, and he listened. That alone makes me feel better about him. I'm sorry if I messed everything up, but I didn't think that you wanted to tell him. (She gives a sad smile.)

Coral: O-oh. (Coral slightly turns away.)

(She gives a small smile.)

Coral: [quiet] Thank you, Brooke. (They have a small hug.)

Coral: I knew I needed to tell him, but I was scared to. And I didn't want to, or know how I should've told him.

Brooke: I understand. (They stop hugging, but they're still close together. Music notes start to play.)

(They both stay silent as they realize the music's playing.)

Brooke: Hey, where's that music coming from?

Coral: Oh! Look down there! Is that- (Brooke looks around and Coral points.)

Coral: It is! It's V!

Brooke: Aww, he came for you! (They look down to see V on the ground with his guitar. He looks up and waves.)

Brooke: See? V really likes you.

Coral: He does?

Brooke: Why else would he be here, Beanie? I can tell you that he's not playing his guitar for me! (Brooke laughs.)

Coral: Can we, um, may I, you know... uh... (She starts blushing, waiting for Brooke's approval.)

Brooke: Well, what are you looking at me for? Go on!

Coral: Really?! For real?!

Brooke: Yeah! You never got to have that date with him you had scheduled. (They talk.)

Coral: Thank yo~ou! I'll be back before it's too late!

Brooke: Don't worry about it. Just have fun!

Coral: I will! (Coral starts down the fire escape and Brooke stays sitting on the edge of the roof.)

(V quickly climbs up the fire escape.)

(Coral continues to walk down.)

(V continues upwards.)

Coral: Oh! (She stops quickly as she stands right in front of V on the same level. He's a lot taller than her, so she's left looking up at him.)

Coral: Hi~i...

V: Hey. (They both smile and blush.)

Coral: I um... I got your hoodie all clean. It should be safe to wear now.
