Poet's Palette

The great artists paint great masterpieces

From their well-stocked palette.

Full of all the colours of the rainbow

And even better yet;

Their works are full of vision,

Whether they are natural or surreal,

They show us the world as they see it

And attempt to make us see

The beauty and the darkness

That surrounds both you and me.

The poets have their visions too

And want them to be heard,

But instead of vibrant colours

Their palette is made up of words.

The skill is to select them well

And put them in context too,

So that the wondrous visions that they have

Can be shared and experienced by you.
