Part 3 - The Truth, Crushes, and Other Things that are Scary

Rosie: Really?

Coral: Really. (They talk.)

V: [whispered] Is she gonna be okay?

Coral: [whispered] Yeah, she just needs a distraction, that's all.

V: Oh. (They whisper and V's robot starts to move in the pocket of one of his bags.)

Robot: Wee-bwee? (It pokes out of the pocket.)

(The tiny robot goes over to the three.)

Sound effect: Clink clunk clunk

Rosie: Huh? (She glances down as the robot grows a little, still a little teary-eyed.)

Robot: Bwoo-woo (It smiles up at her.)

(Rosie smiles a little now.)

V: Looks like my friend wanted to come say hi to you.

Rosie: What is it? (She reaches towards it.)

V: The robot? It's just something that I found all trashed from... my previous home. I thought it looked useful, so I fixed it up. It took a little cleaning up and some time, but now it's working and runs on its own.

Rosie: Ooh! (V scooches over with them.)

Sound effect: Bweoo! Bweeo! (The robot looks up at Rosie with a cute, happy expression.)

Rosie: Haha! Cute! (She looks down at the robot and smiles.)

V: I've been trying to come up with a name for it, but I haven't yet. Do you want to name it?

Rosie: Really? Yeah! (Rosie's surprised and happy.)

Rosie: Uh, it looks like a... Cakepop!

V: Cakepop?

Rosie: Yeah! I don't know, it just does!

V: Well, I like it! Cakepop, it is! (She smiles.)

Coral: That's a good name, Rosie.

Rosie: Thank you!

Cakepop: Bwe-beep!

V: I think Cakepop likes it, too! (Brooke approaches, carrying a bag.)

Cakepop: Bleep bwoo!

V: And I think it likes you, too, Rosie! (Brooke looks a bit confused.)

Sound effect: Thud

Rosie: Aww... I like it, too! (Brooke drops her bag.)

Coral: Oh, Brooke, you're back already?

Brooke: Yeah. I told you it wouldn't be too hard to find some of the ooze. I just had to go near our apartment. There was some all over the place. I hope this will be enough, V.

V: Oh, yeah, that'll be perfect! Thanks! (Brooke approaches. Coral and V look up at her.)

Brooke: Should we leave you to your work?

V: I mean, if you want to stay you can. I don't have a problem with it. But if you have places to be, that's fine, too. (V starts to get up.)

Brooke: Well, that's good because- because- wehavelotsofthingstodoandweneedtogonow! Uh, come on, Coral. We should go. And Rosie should come with us.

Coral: Oh, okay. I guess I'll see you later, V!

V: Yep, I'll see you around. (She helps Coral up.)

Coral: Wait, where are we going?

Brooke: No time for that, we've gotta go! (They walk away.)

Coral: Okay, okay, we're coming.

V: Hmmmm...
