Part 3 - The Truth, Crushes, and Other Things that are Scary

Brooke: V... I told you to protect Coral. Not me. (She looks back up sadly.)

V: But- (He appears scared.)

Brooke: You promised, V! You PROMISED! You have to keep your promise! You have to go to her! (The sanitized agents hold her back now.)

(V's scared stiff.)

Brooke: What are you still doing standing there? Go! Protect Coral from them! (Nicki has a needle filled with the ooze. Brooke's next to her.)

Brooke: And... from me. (She nervously looks down at the needle.)

V: [whispered] Brooke...

Pearl: C'mon, V! We gotta go! We can't help her!

V: [whispered] No... (She pulls him away.)

(Nicki watches Pearl and V run away.)

Nicki: There's another way around. Follow them, and don't let them escape. You know what to do. (She orders a few of the agents.)

(A few of the agents run away.)

V: Brooke... we lost Brooke.

Pearl: Yeah, I know. (They stop in a dark hall.)

V: How am I going to tell Coral that we- that I- lost her? Now, Coral may have to fight her SISTER! Her sister, who's tried to protect her all her life and has always been there! She's going to be so upset! What if Brooke is forced to hurt Coral? (He's upset.)

Pearl: Hey, it wasn't your fault. Brooke was the one who made the plan that made her get left behind. And stop worrying, we know what the cure is now, so we'll have Brooke and the others back in no time! What we really need to worry about is getting out of here. (She talks.)

V: R-right. You're right. Let's find an exit. (They start to leave.)

Sound effect: scuff scuff scuff scuff

V and Pearl:! (They look surprised as they hear footsteps coming from behind them.)

V: The agents! They caught up to us! (He notices the agents running towards them.)

(Pearl notices a door.)

Pearl: Hey, in here! (She grabs V and basically drags him towards the door.)

Sound effect: Thwick! Thwick! Thwick! (The agents start to fire needles at them, but Pearl and V run.)

Sound effect: SLAM! (The door is slammed on the sanitized agents.)

V: Okay, maybe we'll be safe for a while.

Pearl: Y-yeah. Maybe. Nnnngh... (V holds the door shut and Pearl holds her arm in pain.)

V: Hey, a phone! Maybe we could call Coral! We need to tell her about the cure!

Pearl: Right. We- we should do that. (V points at an old phone in the wall.)

Sound effect: beep beep boop-

Pearl: H-here, I know her phone number. I got it. (She types into the phone.)

V: Are... you okay? You all of a sudden don't seem too good.

Pearl: Yeah, I'm fine. Here, it's dialing. You talk to her. (He looks down at her, a little worried. She passes the phone up to him.)

Sound effect: booop!

V: Oh no, it's going to her voicemail! Oh well, I've got to tell her what's going on. Maybe she'll see my message. (He puts the phone up to his ear.)

V: Coral, it's V. I'm sorry I didn't show up to our date earlier, but Pearl, Brooke and I were caught. The good news is, we know what the cure for the sanitation is. Everyone says that it's the orange vials that Octavio had, apparently when you fought him last. (He talks on the phone.)

V: Pearl said they should be in the apartment building with one of you, but she didn't say who it's with. Pearl, do you know who had the- Oh, no, Pearl! (He looks down at Pearl. She had been hit by one of the needles, and now her skin is turning green.)

V: You- you-

Pearl: I'm good, really. It's not bad. It's just... that. (She glances at the small needle in her arm and the green area on her arm around it. It's starting to spread fast. V inspects it.)

Pearl: V, man, sorry I didn't say anything, but- [whispered] No, no, no, not now!

V: Pearl? (She turns away.)

(Pearl's face mostly turns green as she faces away from V.)

Pearl: Hrgaaah!

V: Ahhhgh! (She whips around and starts to shove him against the wall, fully sanitized.)

Sound effect: Cre~eak

V: Pearl, Pearl! Come on, we gotta go! (The door opens and the sanitized agents are standing there.)

V: No, no, no! Guys, come on! (They all go after V.)

(One agent holds a needle of ooze and a muzzle, V notices it.)

V: Oh, no. (He looks worried.)

V: YAAAAGH! (The phone's still on, but he dropped it, so it's just dangling. The agents and V hold him next to the phone..)

V: AAAARRRRHHHG! (Micki still sits in the main area of the base, and she can hear him screaming.)

V: NGAAAAAaaaaa... (In another part of the base, ??? can hear him scream, but has their eyes closed.)

???: Heh, heh, heh... (??? smiles weirdly and opens their eyes.)
