Part 3 - The Truth, Crushes, and Other Things that are Scary

Brooke: You... (She glares.)

Brooke: This is all YOUR fault! YOU got us into this mess! It was you, it was all you!

V: Huh?

Pearl: Yo, Brooke! (She screams and kicks at him. Pearl leans in.)

Pearl: I don't know if you have any brainpower left to realize this or not, but we weren't caught because of V. We were caught because of YOU. If it weren't for you, Micki wouldn't have had a chance to catch us. You did all the fighting for her.

Brooke: No... (Pearl appears annoyed.)

Brooke: No, it's not my fault.

Pearl: Yeah, it is! Own up to your mistakes, girl!

Brooke: No... it's not, it's not, it can't be. I don't- (Brook;es eyes start to brim with tears, and she still slightly tries to struggle out of the ropes.)

Brooke: *sob sob sob* (She starts crying and stops struggling.)

Brooke: I'm sorry, I'm really sorry! *sob sob* (V and Pearl look surprised.)

Pearl: [whispered] Yo, is Brooke... crying?

V: [whispered] Yeah, shut up. (They lean towards each other.)

Brooke: I know it's my fault, I just- *sniff* I just didn't... want to admit it. *sniffle* sob sob (She still cries.)

Brooke: I'm so sorry! I never should've fought you, and I know it! I knew it from the start that I'd regret it, but I- I- I- (Brooke looks away.)

V: You were only thinking about keeping Coral safe, weren't you?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. Sniffle (Brooke nods.)

V: It's alright, I get that you want to keep her safe. It's okay.

Brooke: No. (V doesn't look mad, he softly smiles.)

V: What?

Brooke: It's not okay. Not what I did. They talk.)

Brooke: I've been acting terribly to all of you. To you, V, for not giving you a chance. To you, Pearl, for accusing you of going against me. And even to Coral! I was thinking too much about her safety, that I was basically controlling her life! I knew I was probably being too hard on her, but I just... I wanted to keep her safe... too much. (She looks frustrated with herself.)

Brooke: And that's why Coral kept sneaking out of the house! She knew that I was being a terrible sister! I just wish that I could've realized it sooner so that things wouldn't be so crazy right now. This is all my fault, and I understand if you guys hold a grudge against me for it, but I... I am sorry. (A tear rolls down her face.)

Pearl: Well, good, because you messed up big time.

V: Pearl!

Pearl: What? (V hisses at her.)

V: Look, Brooke, I can't deny that what you've done has hurt us.

Brooke: *sniff* I know.

V: But that doesn't mean we need to hold a grudge. I, for one, want to forgive you.

Brooke: R-really?

V: Yeah! (They talk.)

V: If you're really sorry, which I know you are, then I want to forgive you!

Brooke: Oh. Thank you. (She gives a slight smile.)

V: Hey, call it even for me hiding my face and identity from all of you.

Brooke: Hmmm, okay. Sure. (They talk.)

Everyone: *Sigh* (The three stand there. None of them struggle against their bonds.)
