Technical Difficulties (A Splatoon Script)

Part 2- Green People, Old Libraries, and Other Signs of the End of the World

Kiku: Hey! We're here! (The group turns.)

Coral: Oh, good! I was starting to worry that you guys were in trouble!

Marie: No, we're fine. What happened? (The rest of the group comes up.)

Coral: We don't know!

Brooke: I woke up with this stuff dripping on me, and then I found the bomb in the AC unit. Then Juliuz was chasing Rosie and Emerald for some reason. His skin has turned completely green, so I'm guessing that has something to do with it, but I don't know. (Brooke holds out her hand, which has some of the ooze still on it.)

Marina: Wait... is that..? (She looks closer at the ooze.)

Marina: *gasp* Get that off your skin right now! Get it off!

Brooke: Why? What is it? (Marina frantically slaps the ooze off of Brooke's hand.)

Marina: It's ooze from the Sanitized Octarians. Agent 8 had to deal with them when she escaped to the surface.

Kiyoshi: What does it do? (They talk.)

Marina: So, this is gross, but basically, it's made up of dead octolings and Octarians that tried to escape the Deepsea Metro when a robot called Commander Tartar was around. It forms green Octarians that might as well be zombies! But if enough of it comes in contact with someone alive, it can either splat them or take control of them. Agent 3 was put under mind control with this. (She talks.)

Callie: Oh, that's bad!

Coral: You mean the bombs are filled with liquified Octarians?! Eugh! (They're horrified.)

Marina: How much longer do we have until the bombs go off?

Brooke: About four, five minutes?

Marina: We'll have to get everyone out before then. (They talk.)

Rosie: But there's two green girls that'll stop you! And they've got Echo and Juliuz! (Rosie looks up.)

Marie: Callie, Marina, and I can deal with them. (She speaks.)

Marie: Kiku, Kiyoshi, you two get people out of the building. We don't have long, so teleport as many people as you can out. And if any of the bombs go off, hold the blast back. (The twins nod.)

Marie: Coral, Brooke, I don't think Kiku and Kiyoshi can evacuate the entire building in five minutes. Evacuate the lower levels, and take Rosie and Emerald with you. (They nod.)

Marie: When we're done, meet at the garage beneath the building. Let's go!

Coral: Yeah! (Everyone separates into their groups and run.)

Micki: [whispered] Hey, isn't that-

Nicki: The Squid Sisters? Yeah, shuddup! (They hide with Sanitized Juliuz in the shadows as Marie's group passes.)

Nicki: Juliuz, get Kiku and Kiyoshi. Micki, you keep a lookout on everyone. I'll go after the Squid Sisters and Marina. (She peeks out of the shadows with Micki and Juliuz.)

Callie: Hey, Marina, if someone is put under mind control with the ooze thing, how do you get them back to normal?

Marina: Well it's kind of a long story, but- (They go throughout the halls, weapons out.)

(Nicki aims at Marina.)

Sound effect: Thwick!

Marina: Yow! (Marina grabs the back of her neck and winces. A needle hit her.)

Callie: Marina! (She glances back at Marina. A needle sticks out of her neck and the skin around the needle starts turning green.)
