Technical Difficulties (A Splatoon Script)

Part 1 - Guys, Get-Togethers, and Other Bad Ideas

Micki: Ooh! I see them! Down there!

Nicki: Yeah, I see the little fishes. (Micki and Nicki watch them.)

Micki: Language! So... why are we stalking Coral and Brooke? Are you one of those weird fans or something?

Nicki: Ew, no, I hate them and their music. (Nicki kneels while Micki stands behind her.)

Micki: Oh. So why are we stalking them? (She talks.)

Nicki: They live in the same apartment as most of the agents from the New Squidbeak Splatoon. We'll strike there tonight. My guess is that Coral and Brooke are probably going there right now. We'll find their building easily. (She doesn't take her eyes off the sisters.)

Micki: And why do you want to go after them? They're heroes of this city! You gotta respect 'em!

Nicki: Can you not? The agents are our enemies!

Micki: But they've- (Nicki looks angry.)

Nicki: I don't know if that pea-sized brain of yours would remember, but Agent 8 almost tore all of us apart when she destroyed Commander Tartar and many of the other Sanitized Octarians! Yeah, the agents are our enemies! (She turns around and gets up.)

Micki: But... Agent 8 isn't with all the other agents right now. She's with Doctor Nariko in-

Nicki: Yeah, yeah, I know. And while I would like some revenge for what Agent 8 did, I know what we're supposed to do. (They talk.)

Nicki: C'mon, we don't have a lot of time before nighttime, and we have a lot to do before then.

Micki: Oh, that dangerous stuff? *sigh* Alright, if you say so. ¯\_(ಠ~ಠ)_/¯ (Nicki walks off, and Micki sighs as she walks behind her.)

Brooke: So, I was thinking about what I said earlier.

Coral: Oh, no, not again.

Brooke: No, not the part about dating. (It's snowing outside their apartment building. It's night.)

Brooke: It's about when I mentioned how long it's been since our last mission.

Coral: Oh? What about it? (They're both in pajamas and getting ready for bed.)

Brooke: I just think it's weird how we've gone four months without anything. Octavio and Doctor Nariko are still out there! They both escaped us! How come they haven't tried to attack us again?

Coral: Maybe they realized that we're too tough for them?

Brooke: Yeah, right. (Brooke locks the window beside her bed.)

Brooke: Most of us agents are too sweet to be seen as "tough".

Coral: No we're not!

Brooke: Yeah we are. Kiku and Kiyoshi are still technically little, Echo doesn't like hurting people, Marina's kinda nice, Callie makes friends with everyone, and you are DEFINITELY all of that combined. And I could go on. (They get into their beds.)

Coral: Um, thanks?

Brooke: Anyway, I just feel like something big is going to happen. There's always the calm before the storm, and we had a long period of "calmness". That has to mean a big storm is coming.

Coral: Don't worry about it too much. I don't want you losing any sleep over something like this. Just try resting for a little while.

Brooke: That's not going to help! Something could happen at any moment. (Coral turns out the light.)
