Technical Difficulties (A Splatoon Script)

Intro & Prologue

Nicki: Aha, got ya! Might as well hand yourself over, you little- (She grins downwards.)

Nicki: Green... traitor? How are you green? (She's confused.)

Sanitized: Target acquired. (She looks blankly up at Nicki.)

Nicki: Target? What are you talking about? You don't even have a gun, so shut up and come with me.

Other Sanitized: Target acquired... Target acquired... (She gets up in the Sanitized's face.)

Other Sanitized: Target acquired...--- Target acquired...--- Target acquired... (Nicki turns, confused.)

Other Sanitized: Target Acquired...(Nicki's alarmed as she sees so many sanitized soldiers.)

Nicki: What the heck? (She illuminates an open area of the tunnel. Many of the Sanitized are starting to gather.)

Other Sanitized: Seek and destroy... Seek and destroy... Seek and destroy... (They start blocking off Nicki's exit.)

Nicki: AAAAAAAAH!!! (Many of the Sanitized go after Nicki and she drops her flashlight. Nicki's scream goes into the next frame.)

Micki: Huh? Nicki?

Other Sanitized: Seek and destroy... Seek and destroy... (Micki looks into the tunnel worriedly.)

Micki: [Thought] Was that a scream of frustration or fear? Or pain? [Spoken] Nicki? Are you okay? (She stands up and calls.)

Micki: Nicki?! C'mon, answer me! This isn't funny! (Nicki's on her knees. She's covered in the green ooze and has an open wound. The Sanitized stand around her.)

(Some of the ooze goes inside her open wound.)

(Her hands start turning green.)

Micki: [Thought] She's still not answering? I'd better go check up on her. Oh, this isn't going to end well! (She walks inside the tunnel.)

(She walks nervously through the tunnels.)

Micki: Oh? (Something catches her eye.)

Micki: There you are, Nicki! I was so worried that you had gotten in trouble or something! Why weren't you answering me? (She spots Nicki down the tunnel.)

Nicki: Mi-cki... (Nicki's fully in her sanitized form.)

Micki: Uh... yeah? (She's confused.)

(Nicki starts running after Micki.)

Micki: Oh, CARP! ᕕ(‶°ロ°)ᕗ What is wrong with you?! (Micki runs away frantically. Nicki starts shooting at Micki.)

Micki: Ack! (She starts to get shot with the ooze as she runs.)

Sound effect: Splap! (Micki gets trapped in the ooze as she steps in some.)

Micki: Oh, oh no. (She looks back at Nicki and the Sanitized approaching.)

Micki: Nicki, I don't know what's going on with you, but please stop! You're freaking me out! Seriously, you wouldn't hurt your sister, would you? I mean, uh, half-sister? (She tries to get unstuck.)

Nicki: Come... with us.

Micki: N-no... (She reaches for Micki. Other Sanitized start to gather around.)

Micki: Nicki, please... (Micki cowers as everyone gets closer and Nicki grabs onto her shoulder.)

Nicki and Other Sanitized: Target acquired. (Shot of Nicki.)

Micki: NICKI~~~!!! (The sanitized crowd around Micki.)

Micki: Nicki... (Micki becomes sanitized.)

(Her eyes turn into the unnatural sanitized look.)

This world is imperfect, so in need of correction. (Sanitized Nicki helps Sanitized Micki up.)

People have become obsessed with trivial matters that everyone is tainted with flaws. (They ditch their elite octoling armor.)

It doesn't matter what you were, you are now free from your past lives. (Micki and Nicki are in new uniforms now for the Sanitized.)

You have become a part of something bigger than yourself. (They get new weapons. Micki gets an Octobrush and Nicki gets a Jet Squelcher.)

Your new mission is to spread this purity you have been given... to sanitize the whole earth. (They start to head off.)

(A few shots of them heading to the surface from the metro.)

(They face Inkopolis, which is still a fair ways away.)

Nicki: There it is, Micki. Inkopolis- the supposed "promised land".

Micki: It looks so pretty! (Shot of them.)

Nicki: No, not pretty. Imperfect. Impure. Our enemies.

Micki: Oh. (Nicki looks aggravated.)

Nicki: Soon, when the time is right, we'll take down that city and help make the world a little more pure. (She looks on at the city.)

Nicki: And if ANYONE gets in the way, they're going to be sorry. (She turns to Micki with a devilish grin.)
