Technical Difficulties (A Splatoon Script)

Intro & Prologue

Micki: Sooo... why are we coming to a weird and creepy subway station? We could be at home, watching some good shows, stuffing ourselves with dumplings, and NOT putting ourselves in possible danger!

Nicki: The military needs us, that's why we're here. Word is lots of defective octolings came here after Octavio's fight with an inkling. We need to catch them and bring them back. Besides, I hate those shows you like so much. If I have to watch one more anime with you, I'm going to explode. (The doors open, and Micki and Nicki- two elite octolings- step out.)

Micki: Aww, man! (∩︵∩) Can't we just wait until morning? Maybe-

Nicki: No! The night will give us more cover. We can have a surprise attack. (They walk out of the metro.)

Micki: But I work better in the daytime. (She grumbles.)

(Nicki looks around.)

(She spots a tunnel to an abandoned part of the subway system.)

Nicki: The defectives have to be in there. Dark places are good for hiding.

Micki: You want us to go in there? It's too dark! ┬┴┬┴┤(･_├┬┴┬┴

Nicki: *sigh* You don't have to go in if you don't want to, wuss.

Micki: Yay! I'll go wait for you in the metro! ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ (Micki turns to leave.)

Nicki: No, Micki, you're still coming. I'll go in alone. You're going to wait by the entrance and set up some traps. If anyone comes running out, you'll catch them.

Micki: B-bu-but... (Nicki practically drags Micki over by the back of her shirt. Micki comically panics.)

Nicki: You're staying. Is that clear? (She looks down sternly at Micki.)

Micki: Yeah, okie. (She looks down sadly.)

(They stand at the entrance of the tunnel.)

Nicki: I'll be right back. Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone. And don't forget to set up the traps.

Micki: Right! (Nicki heads in.)

(Micki kneels down and unpacks her bag.)

(She sets down a trap.)

Sound effect 1: Di-ding!

Sound effect 2: Whoosh (Micki watches the metro leave.)

(Micki stares for a moment.)

Sound effect: rattle rattle

Micki:! (She jumps in surprise.)

Micki: Oh, just a bird! Haha, phew. I'm a little jumpy, aren't I? (She watches a bird fly away, relieved.)

(While Micki continues to set down traps, Nicki walks down the tunnel with her gun pointed out.)

Nicki: [Thought] Okay, where are all those shrimpy traitors? I thought I would see at least one of them by now. (She pulls out her flashlight.)

(She walks down the tunnel with her flashlight on. She unknowingly passes one of the Sanitized, who's in the shadows.)

Sound effect: Slp

Nicki: What the- (She steps in some of the ooze, which sticks to her boot as she lifts her foot. It's illuminated by her flashlight.)

Sanitized: Guhl...

Nicki: Huh? (She turns.)

Sanitized: Aooo! (Nicki shines her flashlight on one of the Sanitized. The Sanitized stumbles back in surprise.)
