It's been a couple of weeks since Jeff and I showed Liu the safe place. Liu still didn't know how to get there so that was good for us. But I'm almost a hundred percent sure that Randy told on us for fighting back.
And my thoughts were backed up when my dad drove up the house and we saw the pope on the Woods property. I jumped out of the car the moment it stopped.
I could hear my dad yelling for me but I didn't dare give a response or stop what I was doing. Jeff was standing outside, by the front door. His face showed nothing but pure hatred and anger.
I threw my arms around him, my breathing erratic. He looked up at me and sadness panned through me, tears were sliding down his cheeks.
"What's going on?" I asked him, my voice low.
"Randy tattled and now Liu is getting taken away." He mumbled.
"Where's Liu?" I asked him.
He pointed over to one of the cop cars. Liu was sitting in it with his head down. I kissed Jeff's cheek before running over to the car and pulling the door open.
Liu looked up at me with shock before a police cop came over and tried dragging me away.
"No! I'm not leaving him! Liu! Tell them you didn't do it! Please!" I cried out as I tried grasping onto him.
Liu grabbed my hand and kissed my palm before giving me a sad smile.
"I have to keep Jeff safe.." he whispered to me.
My eyes widened as tears fell from them. I kicked the policeman and he fell to the ground. I quickly enclosed Liu into my arms.
"You're so stupid!" I cried as I stared up at him.
He just laughed, it was broken but he still wore a smile on his lips as he hugged me back.
"Treat him right, yeah?" He said in my ear before he was pushed away from me and into the police car.
I cried out for him as a few police officers came and tried pulling me away.
"LIU!" I screamed as pain filled my body.
I sobbed as I tried getting to the cop car. But it drove away. The police loosened their grip on me and finally let go of me. That's when I took off. I ran down the street as fast as I could as I followed the cop car.
I was barely keeping up with it and Liu's eyes found mine.
"BE SAFE, I LOVE YOU!" I yelled to him as I gave him a sad smile, hiccups falling from my lips.
He smiled and gave me an 'I love you' back in sign language. I sniffed as the car turned down the street and I finally stopped running. I stared at the car until it finally disappeared from my sight.
I walked back home and when I got there it was basically night. The police were gone and my dad was sitting on the front steps of our home. I walked over to him and sat down next to him as I wiped my eyes.
He wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"I'm sorry kid.." he mumbled quietly.
I couldn't say anything to him.
But that day I vowed to get my revenge.
