Chapter Thirty-Five

Don't die before your already dead.

A week had passed since I was announced, Viserys and Alicent along with their children had stayed longer to keep me content as did Rhaenyra and her children who also hadn't left yet we had all planned to return to Kings landing in a few days but Daemon and I seemed to make the most of it

With dragon rides, a picnic and today was the day my courses were due

Daemon had resided into his own chambers due to keeping up with appearances knowing he did not want anyone to know what we had already gotten up to and due to the fact I was still not completely recovered from my attack physically I was fine but mentally I was struggling especially looking down and seeing no red on my bedsheets

"Daphne" Rhaenyra entered before turning and closing the door behind her

She saw the look on my face "it was already a few days late before Viserys left and now" I froze looking at the clean sheets

"Are you worried your with child?" She asked "I am sure Daemon would love-" she cut herself off "oh Daphne" she frowned before coming to my side and taking my hands

"I cannot do this Rhae" I cried moving my hands from hers "I'll lose Daemon for good this time" I added falling to the floor she joined me and held me and together we were now on the floor

"I am so sorry my Mandia"

"Rhaenyra" i said "Daemon has cheated and broken his word on many occasions that if he finds word of this he will" my sobs cut me off

She hushed me and held my head with her hands and held her head against mine

"He will leave me" I sobbed she hushed me again

"He is in love with you he is just a fool" she told me "and I swear to you this child will become your joy even if it was made out of a cruel attempt" she whispered

"I cannot do this alone Rhae" Tears fell from my eyes

"You won't" A voice came from behind my half open door

Daemon walked in "my love" I gave him a sad smile I could try to get out of this conversation but he had already heard most of this conversation

"I shall see you tonight Daph" Rhaenyra stood up and kissed my head before walking out and closing the door tightly behind herself

"Daemon I-"

"Daphne-"

We spoke at the same time before he joined me on the floor by the window and we both laughed

"Everything will be alright Daphne" Daemon stated

"How? We are not even wedded yet and I have this monstrous thing-" he interrupted me by placing his hand on either side of my face making me look at him through my tears

"This child will be my child, as you are my love."

"You would accept this child as your own?" I asked

"They are a part of you, and I love all of you even your darkest secrets" Daemon removed his hands from the sides of my face and held my hands "we can have everything prepared for tomorrow, we have been engaged for long enough no one would think anything of it" I nodded along to him "I must go speak to Viserys" he kissed my hand and went to leave but my hand stopped him

"I love you" I told him he gave me a smile

"I love you" with that he walked towards the door only to be greeted with Rhaenyra running back into my room "just like when you both were young women" Daemon laughed to himself and left our sight

I looked at Rhae and we both laughed

"What did Daemon say?" She asked I sighed and placed myself on my bed sitting with my legs crossed

"We are to be wed tomorrow" I mumbled only to be met with Rhaenyra holding my arm shaking me while excitedly screaming "and I am to be deaf if you continue to scream" I jested

"Sorry" We laughed and she side hugged me "you need a dress-" Rhaenyra was interrupted by my ladies entering the room wheeling a clothing rack in front of them as Rhaenys was behind them followed by Alicent

"Dresses!" Alicent announced excitement lacing her voice

"How did you already-" Rhaenyra and I stood and watched as the dress rack was in the middle of the room

"Daemon told us" Rhaenys said

"Well more like screamed at us to find dresses but here we are" Alicent smiled at me

I smiled at her as I felt happy tears slipping from my eyes

I stood in a white dress looking in my mirror my hands rounded on my stomach wondering what will happen with the babe, already feeling nauseous.
