Chapter Eleven

His Kisses.

"some say the dragons don't understand high valerian and that we just pretend that they do to keep ourselves in power or to pretend we are like gods" I chuckled at him

"Is this your idea of small talk Daemon?" He chuckled

"Of course Daephne"

God the things this man does to me just by saying my name is unhealthy.

I glanced at a nearby tree and noticed the sun hit it perfectly I looked at Daemon who smiled at me with his hand out before I took it, we walked over together and sat down

"How was your war?" I asked closing my eyes facing up at the sky

"I sent you a few letter and then I received your letter and I ended the war" He said looking at me

"You ended your war because I wrote you a letter?" I smiled and looked at him he smiled back and lowered his head letting out a chuckle "I would've written you a long time ago if I had of known you would go and do that" I added looking at him

We sat really close together and I suddenly forgot about all the awful things he had done until of course I got a reminder by my brother pointing his sword at Daemons throat making me instantly stand up

"Sebastian!" I said

"He must pay for his crimes" he uttered while Daemon looked unbothered

The king noticed the situation and soon enough a guard had his sword across my brothers throat holding it steadily waiting for his orders

"With your own blood?" I asked moving my brothers sword so it was pointed at me "stop being mad"

"Daephne now is not the time for your damn kindness" he stated

"So kill me" I told him as Rhea ran to my side no doubt about to call me insane

I know the knights around us could stop my brother but they would do so by killing him

"You would sacrifice yourself for the likes of him?!" He yelled causing more eyes on us

"It has been years brother allow it to pass"

"Tell that to my wife" he stated "she was terrified" I rolled my eyes

"You are a knight of the king" I told him looking at him "of course she's going to be terrified"

"He sent a woman to our home Daphne!" He yelled "who claimed to be. Her" I froze

I quickly took his sword from him then looked at Daemon "my brother was jesting" I told him as he smiled

"Clearly my princess" he said as he stood up next to me

My brother had left to get rest and I sat on the grass once more with Rhaenyra and the prince my eyes closed trying to collect my thoughts

"Who is her?" Rhea asked

"I am guessing my mother" I told her

"since you and I are cousins would it not be a good thing for-" Daemon cut Rhaenyra off

"No it would not be" he said taking my hand in his and kissing it

"My mother is- " I paused looking for the right word "well worse than a vengeful god" I told her as Daemon drew circles on my hand with his thumb

"That's why you and my mother were so close?" Rhea asked

"While your mother was kind to you and all that my mother was hardly ever kind to me" I muttered earning a look from Daemon

I have no idea what to do about him we need to talk, alone.

"I didn't send anyone to Sebastian's home Princess" Daemon said

"I know alas my mother is long dead" I told them

"How do you know?" Rhea asked

"By the time I was twelve Saphira was as big as i am now" I told them "My mother had the tendency to be cruel while drunk so Saphira" I thought back to that day

Fire burning people screaming dragons running to me and my brother

"She burned her?" Daemon asked

"Alive" I said

"How do you know it was her?" Rhea asked shocked

"Who do you think checked for survivors?" I asked "your mother may have taken me here once when I was ten and two but by that night when I had returned home mother was not impressed" I stated

"It wasn't your fault" Rhea took my hand and I nodded

"Of course not I just happen to have the greatest dragon" I stated looking over to Saphira

"I would say Caraxes is the greatest dragon" Daemon stated I laughed

"Oh please your dragon enjoyed the company of a who-" I stopped myself and stopped smiling remembering his wife "mine is much grander" I said looking over at her "we should go for supper Rhea" I said getting up after shaking off Daemons hand

After supper I returned to my chambers ready for bed when of course someone interrupted.

I glanced at my window as Daemon got off his dragon and stepped into my room

"Can I help you, my prince?" I asked as I continued to look down at my book

"I want to show you something" he said extending his hand I looked at him as he smiled "it's nothing bad, it's kind off beautiful" he stated

I moved from my table and took his hand and soon we were in the sky

He stopped at one of his pleasure houses leaving me shocked "seriously?" I asked putting the hood of my cloak up praying no one would see me

"Come" he said smiling with his hand extended I shook my head but took his hand

As we entered the pleasure house you could hear different types of pleasure noises I watched Daemon closely until we stood still at a empty wall

"The king will have my head if we finds out we are here may we leave?" I asked him trying to go

Only for him to pin me against the wall "Here is the only place were we can be free in and be our true selves Daephne" he said looking into my eyes then down to my lips I followed him looking from his eyes down once we met each other's gaze again, he smashed his lips into mine

I placed one of my hands on the back of his neck while the other held his hand interlacing our fingers

He quickly moved to my neck planting kisses along as he went and I couldn't help but allow a moan to escape my lips making him smirk into the crook of my neck leaving behind marks made by
