“Dad!” I rushed all the way here sa private room ni dad just to see his condition.
He looks hopeless and it hurts me seeing him on this state, he's laying in his bed with that oxygen mask that cover his half of face. Nasa tabi niya rin ang oxygen tank.
I know, we know that ayan nalang ang bumubuhay sa kaniya..
After that call with his private doctor, parang binagsakan ako ng mabigat na bagay nang sinabi niya na masyado nang humihina si dad and also wanted to give up already.
am i ready? no! i'm not ready seeing him lifeless!
“M-My p-princess..” he uttered but i know that he's struggling to speak, kaagad akong napaluha dahil sa tinawag niya sa 'kin. I'm used sa tawag niya sa 'kin and i don't want someday na hindi na ulit 'yan maririnig sa kaniya.
“d-dad, please..don't give up” I said, almost begging.
he just smiled at me telling that he's fine..
“I don't want to..b-but you don't want me seeing like in this kind of situation, r-right?” he's right, i don't wanna see him hurting but hindi ko pa talaga kaya.
He extended his arm then put it on my head, now he's gently caressing my hair. Like he always does that gives me comfort.
“I-I'm already tired, a-anak..can i rest now?” sunod sunod ang naging pagbuhos ng luha ko sa sinabi niya, i can't imagine na darating ang araw na hihingi siya ng permission na he really want to rest “I-I'm contented already that you're here, you have no idea how much i love you..Katarina.” It gives so much pain to me everytime he's calling me that, i ended up get so confused.
I know that wasn't my name, but why he kept on calling me that way.
Natauhan ako nang makitang sumenyas siya sa mga kasama namin sa loob ng private room, mabilis na nagsi-sunuran sila and now it's just the two of us nalang.
“I..I have something to tell you..” he stutterly said after a long silence between us, i know that he's hard to speak but there's a hint of nervousness in dad's voice.
There, he explained everything.
Matagal bago ma-process ng utak ko ang mga inamin niya, tanging tanong lang ang nasa isip ko ngayon.
why? bakit ngayon niya lang sinabi na totoong anak niya 'ko?
yes, he admitted that he is my biological father. He also added na he had an affair with someone which is my mother, sabi niya ay hindi maganda ang relasyon nila ng asawa niya no'n. Kai's mother, so he did a mistake.
Sa bar niya raw nakilala ang mother and he got amused with her smiles hanggang sa everyday na siyang pumupunta ng bar just to see my mother's smile, he got captivated with that.
Then that day happened, they made a mistake which turns out me.
Ako ang naging bunga ng pagkakamali nila, and now malinaw na sa akin na kaya pala hindi ako tanggap ng mother ni Kai dahil totoong anak ako ni dad sa ibang babae. Now, i can't blame her kung tingin niya sa 'kin is trash because i was made like that.
I want to shout, he lied. Dad lied to me!
But mas lamang ang pag-aalala ko sa kalagayan niya ngayon so i tried to understand his confessions.
“w-where is she now?” I asked after a loud sobs, until now ay hindi parin tumitigil ang mga luha.
“s-she's gone, she died while giving birth to you..” I gasped really hard, i just couldn't believe what dad admitted today. It's hard to believe, but i should believe..
