"Maybe we should go out and help them search." Marjan suggested
"Judd told us to stay here. That's what we should do."
"How can you be so calm under literal fire?" Marjan asked
"Well, at least no one's shooting at us." He shrugged
"And you?" She referred to Kate
"I've kinda gotten used to to this side of the world throwing things like this at me" she shrugged
"What else has it thrown at you?" She raised a brow.
"Em, earthquake to start, I slid out of a collapsed building and then had to climb around it with glass embedded in my side, then I was in a truck that had exploded and then a tsunami." She listed,
"Damn" Marjan snorted
Marjans phone pinged, she pulled it from her pocket and looked over at the Latino "Seriously? You wanna follow me on Insta?"
"Is now really the time?" Kate asked, her head cocked.
"Heard you put a lot of effort into it. Was curious."
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours." She offered, "you two"
"I haven't been on social media in a while. The last post is, like, nine months old. Super boring."
"I'll be the judge of that."
"Fine."
"Deal"
"You in?" Marjan asked Kate
"Why not" she shrugged
Kate followed Marjan on Instagram, within seconds she was accepted.
"Is that a Prius in the air?" Eddie asked
"Tornado dropped it between two buildings."
"Oh shit" Kate muttered, she continued to scroll through her page.
"Is this your kid?" She asked, showing a picture of him and Christopher
"Yeah, that's Christopher. He's my world. Doing the whole, you know, single dad thing."
Kate glanced at him, noticing now he just dropped that we was single into the matter. It was the first time he had shown any interest since Shannon.
"You did not build him a skateboard."
"Yeah, well, Buck and Kate helped."
Marjan looked up from her phone "Wait, is that that creepy guy who was staring at me before?"
"He's harmless. Mostly."
"Hey, that creepy guy is my fiancé" Kate defended him,
"You have a kid too?" Marjan asked
"Yeah, she's 7 weeks old" Kate nodded, her heart aching as she missed her daughter
"She's cute" marjan complimented
Their attention was taken by the gory conversation between Judd and Owen strand on the radio, Eddie and Kate kept a distant ear until one of their own was heard on the radio.
"Hey, Judd? This is Paramedic Henrietta Wilson. I'm up here with your captain."
"You've gotta be kidding me." Eddie mumbled
