Epilogue.

This story has been an emotional-rollercoaster to say the least. I spent hours and days dedicating great work to these two characters which will forever leave an imprint on my heart.
I want to thank my older sister for reading the poems which go along with this story. I want to thank my best friend Mekyiah who has showed me unwavering support. I want to thank my family for always encouraging me to write. I want to thank every English teacher I've ever had, as I would not be able articulate a story as complex as this one. Most Importantly I want to thank myself. I want to thank myself because of how vulnerable and raw these two characters are for me, Vincent and Peter. In the end this story captures the hardships of a gay romance in the 1800s. It captures decades-ago misery that can still feel the same way today.
This story is also to appreciate the trailblazers of the 1800; the men who couldn't love publicly with each-other. The men who were killed for having love in another human being.
Without them and their history, love now would never be as accepted as it is today.
Thank you so much to whoever may read this,
It means a lot.

-Maksim, John.
