CHAPTER XLV: They are OFFICIAL

Edwin's Point of View

We are on our way to subic. We decided na mag convoy na lang. Xandrie is with me while my parents are on a van since kasama na nila doon yung ibang mga kasama namin sa bahay. It is a family outing and they are family. Nasa unahan naman namin ang sasayan nina Austine at Khey samantala sina Kuya Edward naman ay nasa likuran namin.

"I am so excited!" Xandrie said while browsing on her phone. Well, she is my passenger princess at hangga't kaya ko siyang ihatid kahit saan ay gagawin ko. "Are you excited, Classy?" She looked at me while smiling from ear to ear. I held her left hand while driving, "Of course. I am so excited about so many things." She looked at me innocently, "Just like?"

But I didn't answer and just kissed the back of her hand that made her blush. "Hindi pa din ako sanay sa ganiyang gestures mo." she commented while chuckling. I glance at her, "Kailangan mo na masanay. I intend to act like this as long as you are mine."

"You mean forever?" She teased me. I was about to answer her when she pinched my cheek as she continued speaking. "Just kidding! Baka ma-pressure ka na habang buhay na ako samahan ee." And I just answered her in my mind, yes, I am gonna be with her forever. I know we are just starting but I can't even think of a day na magkakahiwalay kami.

Malayo pa ang biyahe namin dahil halos tatlong oras ang biyahe bago makarating ng Subic. I got a call from my parents na mag drive-thru na lang muna kami para sa meryenda. Hindi naman halatang takot ang nanay ko na magutom kami. Umalis kami sa bahay ng 8 am at wala pa kaming dalawang oras sa biyahe ay pino-problema na ang meryenda. Well, Xandrie only had a cup of coffee and pancakes before we left. I am sure she is hungry when she wakes up.

"Mom, Xandrie is asleep." I stated as we entered the premises of McDonalds. She called me just to ask if okay na ang Mcdo na meryenda para kay Xandrie. Sina Austine kasi at Kuya Edward ay sa Jollibee nag drive-thru at ayaw daw nina Khey ng Mcdo.

She sighed over the phone, [Fine, Just get everything she wants, okay? I don't want her to starve and wake her up by 10:30. She needs to take her medicine.]

"Yes Ma. Don't worry I am on it." sagot ko na lang na hindi nakikipagtalo. After that, she dropped the call. And just in time since they are already done on giving their order. I moved the car and stopped at the window for them to get my order.

Few seconds later, someone speaks. "Good Day Sir! What can I get for you?" I roll my window down para mas marinig at maintindihan niya ako. "Hi! Dalawang McChicken Sandwich with large fries and large iced tea. One order of two-piece pancakes with sausage and one order of Chicken fillet ala king."

"Is that all, Sir?" she asked and so I answered yes. She repeated the order and I confirmed it. "Kindly proceed to window two Sir for the payment. May I ask for your name Sir? Ihahatid na lang po sa parking ang orders niyo." I nodded at her before I answered, "Edwin". Ngumiti naman ito bago ulit nagsaita. "Okay Sir Edwin, thank you po. Have a nice day." I just smiled and drove towards window two to pay for the orders. I need to park my car since mahaba ang pila sa drive thru. When I parked beside the van of my parents, mabilis pa sa alas quatro na binuksan ni Mama ang pinto and good thing hindi ko pa sinasarhan ulit ang bintana ko.

"Son, mauna na kayo doon sa resort natin ha. We have to stop by on the market kasi kulang yung mga dala naming pagkain para sa dinner natin. Ayaw ko naman na inorder lang sa restaurants ang ipapakain kina Xandrie and Aeisha. They are my daughter-in-laws." Napailig na lang ako sa sinasabi ni Mama. My father can't help but chuckle while listening to his wife. "Hon, huwag ka masiyadong maingay. Xandrie is sleeping, look." My dad pointed to Xandrie. "Oh look how adorable she is. Isn't she lovely, hon?" My mom stated while her gaze is locked to the woman beside me. "Sadyang makupad lang yang anak mo. This lady is so special, I can see it. I can see how our son looked at Xandrie pero hindi umuusad ang lovelife." Mom glared at me as if I committed several crimes towards her.

"Mom, please. We are taking all the time we need. Isa pa, sina Kuya Edward ang ikakasal hindi naman ako." I reasoned out while checking out on Xandrie. "And for the record, we are now together." I casually tell them.

"WHAT?!" My mom exclaimed and went down to the van. "Mom, tone it down baka magising si Classy." saway ko sa nanay ko pero hindi naman natinag. Naramdaman ko na lang ang pag galaw ni Xandrie sa tabi ko, nagising ata dahil sa lakas ng boses ng Mama ko. "At nagising na nga." My father said between his laughs.

I looked at Xandrie, "Where are we na?" she asked in her sleepy voice. I leaned closer and removed the strands of hair on her face. "You can sleep more. I know you got tired from last night's party. We are just waiting for our food, gigisingin na lang kita mamaya." I softly said. She didn't answer and just nodded before dozing to sleep. I faced my parents who are now grinning from ear to ear. "Okay, naniniwala na ako. I never saw this man speak so softly and lovingly." pang-aasar sa akin ni Mama.

"Sir Edwin and Sir Eus?" The crew approached us while holding several paper bags. "I am Eus and this Edwin." My father pointed at me. Lumapit naman yung crew para iabot yung mga order namin. "Are you sure it is enough for Xandrie? Tinitipid mo naman ata 'yon." My mom worriedly said while checking out my paper bag. "Ma, I ordered everything Xandrie loves." I answered and went inside the car.

"Drive safely, Son." My father reminded me. Before I closed the door, I heard my father say something that made me smile.

'Take good care of my daughter-in-law, Son'
