No longer where you left me
A different person entirely
Lend me your smoke rings
And I'll handle what I'd be
Disappearing in the breeze
Moving all the way to Jersey
Just to see what I'd bring
To the east coast city
Where I cast my little girl dreams
Moving on with my clarity
And never so trusting
With my heart in jeopardy
It was you I would marry
But the world has needs.
