My mummy used to sing me a song at night about the sandman the one who gave the kids good dreams and nightmares I can still hear her voice singing it to me

Mr Sandman bring me a dream

Make it the sweetest that I've ever seen

A field with tulips, roses, and clover

And tell me that my lonely nights are over

My big brother always thought the sandman was utter nonsense then again he's an idiot we once got into a fight about mummy I said something and he slapped me across the face sadly however that didn't make me leave to go live with auntie Johanna. I heard talking one voice belonged to auntie Johanna the other well I didn't know who the other voice belonged to "it should be in here somewhere, Hanna what are you doing awake" "I couldn't sleep" "we'll go back to bed it's late you have school in the morning"

"but what about the scary man" "scary man you mean this idiot here" I shook my head no "Hanna I thought I told you to stop watching those scary movies" "he's real auntie I keep seeing him he has no eyes" my words must have peeked the man's interest because he sat down in the chair near auntie Johanna "what does he look like child"

I was surprised by his voice I felt a sense of power this man was one I did not want to anger. "He's tall and he wears a trench coat and a pair of thick glasses so you can't see his eyes" "I thought you said he had no eyes" "he doesn't he has mouths where his eyes should be"

The man's face turned grim and he muttered something to Auntie Johanna "the Corinthian" "the man that's been killing people here in England " "I created him he escaped from the dreaming I came here to stop him but I was captured before I could" I sat listening to their conversation "so why is he tormenting my niece she's done nothing wrong" "I sadly don't have an answer for you, Constantine".
