A few days later
Me and Lysandra have been talking for a while.

"I can't ask you to do that," I tell her.

"You're not asking for anything. I'm suggesting it," she tells me.

"Lysandra I can't allow you to put yourself in danger like that. If they catch you with Ember they will kill you," I tell her.

"No one knows what Ember looks like. No one has seen her since the day she was born," Lysandra says.

"I know but-" I start but she cuts me off.

"Aelin it's probably the best chance to protect her," she tells me.

I know she has a point but I still don't want her to risk her life.

"I know it probably is but I can't ask you to run away with my daughter. It's not that I don't trust you. It's just the fact that if you get caught with her they'll kill you," I explain.

"Not to mention Rowan and Aedion will be pissed," I say.

An hour later
After an hour of discussing the situation with her I finally decide that it's the best option.

"Ok but our best option on getting her out of the palace is to not tell anyone," I say.

"But you said yourself Rowan and Aedion will be pissed don't you think at least they should know?" She asks me.

"No because then they won't let you take her," I tell her.

"Ok when do you want me to get her and go?" She asks me.

"Tonight when everyone's asleep," I tell her.

She nods.

"And make sure she doesn't use her powers," I tell her.

"I will," she tells me.

Later at night
Me and Rowan take Ember into her room and tuck her into bed. When Rowan leaves I stay for a little bit longer.

"Sweetie I need to tell you something," I tell my daughter.

"What is it mommy?" She asks me.

"Auntie Lysandra is going to take you somewhere tonight and you and her will be staying away for a little while," I tell her.

"What? Why?" She asks.

"You just have to trust us and I'm gonna give you something so you don't forget about us," I tell her.

I pull a necklace out of my pocket. It's a locket with a picture of me and Rowan inside.

I put it around her neck.

"Me and daddy love you more than anything. Please never forget that," I tell her.

"I love y'all too," she tells me as tears roll down her cheeks.

Tears of my own fall from my eyes.

She pulls me into a hug and I wrap my arms around her.

"Never forget how much we love you, sweetie. You're the most important person to us," I tell her.

"I won't mommy," she tells me.

Just then Lysandra comes in.

Me and Ember look at her.

Ember's arms wrap tighter around me.

Lysandra walks over to us.

I try to pull Ember away from me but she doesn't budge.

"Ember sweetie you have to go with her," I tell her.

"I want to stay with you!" She cries.

"I know but you have to go," I tell her.

Lysandra lays a hand on Embers shoulder.

She looks up.

I kiss my daughters forehead on more time.

"Take care of my daughter, Lysandra," I tell my best friend.

"I will," she says as she picks Ember up.

With that Lysandra takes my daughter and leaves.

I wipe my tears off of my face and walk into mine and Rowan's room.
