"Hey babe" Jonathan mumbled as he walked tiredly into palace arcade, his eyes landing on Mia stood behind the desk, the orange and Purple uniform making her stand out. He smiled, looking her over as she made her way towards him, the two instantly hugging although they hadn't seen each other in weeks,
"Hii... just finished your shift?" Mia asked, her hands snaking up to his hair, starting to play with it slowly,
"Yeah... long night"
"I bet" she sighed "you should go home... to bed,"
He shook his head against her shoulder, "Bob is there"
"he's there all day now?" she questioned, a few months ago, bob, Joyce's boyfriend would only stay from 11 till about 2, but it progressively got longer... and as he started practically moving in, Jonathan started to basically move out,
"No- well sorta?, he uh.. getting there quite early, then staying till really late and coming back again really early, he might as well stay the night" he grumbled
"So what are you gonna go? Sleep in your car?"
He nodded,
"Jon... you can't do that! Look," she dug around in her pockets, pulling out her house key "go to mine ok? Stiles will be there... but he'll probably be in bed-- and he wont care that your there without me, we've been together 8 months! just go get some sleep" she kissed his cheek and tried pushing him out the door, but he held his ground,
"No... I'll just stay here till your done with work, ok? I can stay in the back right?" he peered over her shoulder to lock eyes with Keith, her co-worker, who just nodded, seemingly ok with his question.
"Jonathan, I'm here till 8! its only 6... you'll be bored, and the kids will be here later so you wont get to sit down!"
"I'll be fine!" he shook his head and let her go before walking past her and through to the office in the back. Mia rolled her eyes at his stubbornness.
upon hearing the bell at the front door ring a half hour later she shot around, a huge smile plastered her face when three of the four boys walked in, little baggies of coins rattling in their hands,
"Hi Mia!" Dustin yelled, his free hand waving like mad,
"Hey boys, how was school?" she asked, following them around to one of their favourite games,
"It was good, we had a double period in science since our math teacher was sick" Mike nodded as the three of them immediately got lost in the 'dragons lair' game, completely ignoring the girl stood next to them.
Just before Dustin had finished his go, Will showed up, slotting himself next to the boys silently, as not to disrupt Dustin's concentration,
"Oh, Jesus! I'm in unchartered territory here, guys" Dustin huffed, his eyes glued to the screen,
"Down! Down! Down!" The three others yelled, making Mia jump at their sudden noise,
"I'm going! I'm going!" Dustin panicked, they erupted into a chorus of yelling directions as he tried to get the character to safety. But his reign was over when the little on screen knight burst into flames. "No! No! No! No! No! No! I hate this overpriced bullshit!" he started smacking and kicking the game "Son of a bitch! Piece of shit!"
