"Most of the acne is hormonal. Really, we can do nothing until your tests return then we know how to move forward. But, don't fret, once the test results come in, I'm finding every means for you to have your life back. That's my promise to you." Nadia nodded mutely at Doctor Nosakhare, though she wanted to scream bloody murder, she managed to put a lid on her emotions.

"But, in the mean time, would you like to speak to a dermatologist friend of mine? Usually, I refer patients with hormonal imbalance acne to her, and they come back with good results. Mind you, consistency is important with skin care and it's far more frustrating with this situation but you'll get your money's worth." Nadia nodded with a little excitement. She wanted a semblance of clear skin in time for her December wedding that was four months away.

The gynecologist handed her a plastic card that had the address of the dermatology clinic in Gwarimpa and the phone number. Nadia tucked the card into her scrub front pocket behind her pocket watch and got up to leave. Doctor Nosakhare however stopped her.

"As a nurse that deals with pregnancies and new babies all the time, you might be tempted to ask yourself what you did wrong for your body to treat you this way, don't let those thoughts sit in on you. Don't let thoughts of depreciation settle into you to build a home and taking the place of the excitement in your life. Don't let that happen. Okay?" Nadia let out a tight smile, but it was still a smile.

In the elevator on the way back to her office, Nadia thought of a lot of things, foremost on her mind was the fact that Alhaji accepted PCOS for what it was, he knew the statistics, he read up on it even without her asking and he empathized before she even said a word. It was what gave her the most joy in all of the grim situation.

As she stepped off the elevator, she saw Hajarah laughing with Folake, the frown that had worked it's way to Nadia's face earlier dissolved and she walked to her friends side.

"Who wants to go out tomorrow?" She asked them, watching as Folake's face slightly crumpled, she had just paid her sister's private university school fees at the request of their parents.

"My treat." Nadia added to make sure they didn't worry about the cost. It was their only off day of the week and since UmmulKhair was busy with exams and Sarah had begun an internship somewhere, she did not want to sit in her room all alone moping.

"How about we go picnicing?" Nadia shot Hajarah a look, she truly didn't want to slave over any food and then dress up, wear makeup just so she could eat.

"No, not like that, I know you, this lazy being. We can order food in, and go to park, eat, talk and just have fun." Nadia nodded, waiting for Folake's approval, Folake nodded as well and their group scattered immediately they saw CMD coming their way. Though CMD treated them nicely, they didn't want to disrespect him.

As Nadia wrapped up her work, in the new cubicle that CMD had put she had Folake, she thought of the incident that caused the move. Alhaji's ex-wife. When she told him of the incident, she expected him to defend her in some way, or try to downplay it, he didn't and it made her a little more secure than she was previously.

Though, he had not officially addressed the situation, he had taken precautionary measures to ensure that the situation would not repeat itself, all without her asking.
