San waited for what felt like eternity.

When in reality, it was just over an hour.

He shot up when a nurse came looking for him. "Are you family of Mr. Wooyoung?"

San paused for a moment. He didn't recall telling them his name. "Yes, is he okay?"

The nurse smiled kindly. "Yes, don't worry...his head injury caused a minor concussion, other than that, he's okay."

San let out a relived sigh. "Thank you...can I go see him?"

"Yeah, of course...we moved him to that bed over there"

He nodded and particularly ran to where she pointed and moved the curtain.

He took a step closer to the boy laying on the stretcher.

They did warn him that he will be disoriented and confused and might even have some memory loss due to the head injury.

San tried his best to hold back his tears.

"You really scared me..."

Wooyoung slowly opened his eyes wincing at the headache. "What happened..?"

"Shh...you need to rest." San smiled, holding his hand.

The injured boy whined. "Where are we?"

"The emergency room."

"Right...I heard doctors..."

"The nurse said we have to stay tonight."

Wooyoung sighed. "Here?"

San nodded. "Yeah...I'm staying with you."

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"I don't know...I just found you unconscious on the sidewalk."

Wooyoung's face fell slowly. "How did you find me?"

"I...just looked for you..."

"It's weird how you always find your way to where I am."

"Well...you're never too far..."

"My head hurts."

"Of course it does, you had a concussion."

Wooyoung sighed. "Can you give me some water?"

San quickly grabbed the water bottle next to the bed and helped the other drink from the straw.

"Did you...tell them your name?" He hesitantly asked, but to his surprise, Wooyoung already fell asleep.

He sighed and held his hand. "I'm so glad you're okay..."

Hours passed and San was still sitting there watching him breathe.

So many thoughts crossed his mind.

What if he was able to save his boyfriend like this and be able to watch over him?

What if he had survived like this?
