Read to me ~ Xingyun

Chongyun POV:

I decided to get started straight away on helping Xingqiu, the next day I made us breakfast and took it up to my room, although I got a death stare from shenhe when I first tried to take it up after explaining she allowed it,

Xingqiu sat up as I brought the food, it was just cereal, nothing over the top,

"Do we have to start now..?" He whispered,

"Yeah, just do the best you can ok?" I replied softly, bringing him over to my desk so he could eat,

He took a breath before picking up the spoon, after hovering it in front of his mouth for a minute he put it back down,

"Can you talk whilst I eat, that's always helpful, I like listening to you talk..." he whispered,

"Uh.. what do I talk about?" I asked, He responded by pointing at the bookshelf, I understood and picked up a book before starting to read,

To be fully honest I got kind of immersed into the story, this Vanessa person was really cool,

By the time I looked back up he had eaten almost all of it and was now sat back in the chair looking at me as I read,

"Are you done?" I asked, gesturing to the bowl,

He nodded so I stood up, picking up his bowl, as I walked past him to go and put it downstairs I kissed his head and whispered;

"I'm so proud of you."

When I went downstairs shenhe was meditating on the table again, her bedroom window was broken and couldn't open so she couldn't light her candles and now she started meditating on the table near the window, the whole kitchen smelled of Qingxin and incense.

I put the bowls down quietly and went back upstairs so I didn't disturb her, when I got there Xingqiu was laying on the bed again,

"Are you alright?" I asked, going over to him,

"Yeah. Just tired." He replied,

He was not a morning person.

"You can have some more sleep, we don't have to go anywhere today." I smiled, sitting on the bed next to him,

"Yeah that sounds good."

He closed his eyes and let himself drift off as I sat there silently watching, he was truly beautiful.. if only he could see himself the way I see him, he wouldn't be anywhere near as insecure.

As he slept I decided to get some catch up work done, Mr diluc had sent me some since I had missed loads of school, Xingqiu on the other hand.. knowing his situation and how stressed he was they left him alone.

I opened my bedside drawer to get a pen when I saw the book I had bought all those weeks ago,

'Depression in teenage boys'

I picked it up and opened it, flicking through and looking for something on eating but there was nothing. Great.

I put the book away and lay on the bed feeling a little defeated, I looked over at Xingqiu who was now sound asleep and I pulled him over to me before nuzzling my face into his hair.

He really was the best comfort. I always felt bad when he comforted me, I felt like I should be comforting him more but whenever I try to it just ends up in him comforting me again.

I looked at the time and saw it was 9 in the morning which was pretty early for a Sunday, Xingqiu was smart to go to sleep.

We spent a lot of time sleeping, we would sleep through the day or just cuddle, never actually do anything, I mean apart from my workouts the most productive thing I've done in Aves is go to the shop, then I started thinking about Bennett and Razor, I hadn't seen Razor in ages and I didn't tell Bennett where I went, maybe we should catch a bus to mondstat and visit them.

I decided I would talk to Xingqiu about it when he woke up, I didn't want to disturb him since he didn't get much sleep last night.

After a while he finally woke up.
